This is the COLON, aka the Large Intestine! It makes poop (literally, that its jam!) 💩 From the cecum, ascending, transverse, and descending colon, through the sigmoid, the colon features haustra, tenia coli, and epiploic appendages. We all know where it ends 😉

The sigmoid colon is also known as the pelvic colon due to its presence in the pelvic region. It is the last part of the large intestine nearest to the rectum and anus. It is the point where feces stays for a while before getting excreted. The sigmoid colon maintains a continuation from the descending colon to the rectum. It is usually present within the pelvis area. But, it often becomes displaced into the abdominal cavity due to its mobility.

The large intestine joins with the small intestine at the ileocecal sphincter. The colon begins with the cecum which has an appendix branching from it. Then it moves into the ascending colon, then the transverse colon, then the descending colon, and then the sigmoid colon empties into the rectum. The rectum also consists of the anal canal.
