Muriel Corbierre on Instagram: "This pencil case is tailored to your own notebook by measuring the length of the elastic you need. The finished pencil case length is about 8.25" (21cm). You can make is shorter by a couple of inches (5cm) if you need; it will then fit smaller pens but not pencils.
Fabrics are quilting cotton, the exterior is interfaced with fusible fleece. Dimensions: 4.5" wide by 9" tall (11.4cm by 22.9cm). I used a #3 ykk nylon zipper, the prepared length should be 8" (20.3cm) so get a zipper that is 9" (23cm) minimum.
I used 1" wide elastic. Seam allowance is 1/4" (6mm). When measuring the elastic, make sure it's taunt but not stretched. Make sure you sew over the elastic a few times.
