Time out corner classroom

A few years back I shared this post. I bought lots of tissue paper and scrapbook paper and went to work with what I had on hand. I've moved classroom and did it again. Same swag, new colors. Since I trashed the clip chart, I decided to make a "take a break" area. I purchased this from Teaching in Progress. You can find it here. Sometimes when students have an inappropriate response to events that are out of their control, they need time and a safe space to process what happened. Enter Antarctica: A place to go when you need to chill out! This blog post is all about creating a Take a Break spot for your students to self regulate.

Time out plek: 1. zet de timer op 3 minuten. 2. denk erover na wat er fout ging 3. vertel dit na afloop aan de juf en zeg sorry. (optie: maak een tekening of een verhaal over wat je kunt doen zodat het beter gaat) 4.kom weer in de kring en probeer het opnieuw.

After a little meet and greet time, and some free exploration of carefully prepared hands on centers, it's time for circle time! Come on and sing with us. . . "One, two three, come learn with me. Four, five, six, calendar and weather picks. Seven, eight, nine, it's circle time!" It's our Little Helper chart! Meaningful task help keep our day running smoothly.
