Aconitum also known as aconite monkshood wolf's-bane leopard's bane mousebane women's bane devil's helmet queen of poisons or blue rocket is a genus of over 250 species of flowering plants belonging to the family Ranunculaceae.

Wolfsbane (Acontium napellus, Monkshood) flowers from late Spring to Summer. It is a tuberous rooted, herbaceous perennial with rounded leaves with deep blue to purple, narrow, helmet-shaped flowers. It likes a sunny position with some shade and well-drained, moist, rich soil and grows to a height of 1.2m and 40cm wide.
