I may have more thoughts on this article a bit later, but for now, allow me to just recommend it.
Loyola Election Law professor Rick Hasen outs, in some detail, the shameful case of democracy-hater Mark F. “Thor” Hearne (former Bush/Cheney national general counsel) and his entire Rove-orchestrated ACVR “voter fraud” scam over at Slate today, in a piece titled: “The Fraudulent Fraud Squad – The Incredible, Disappearing American Center for Voting Rights”.
After more than two years of the story being “chronicled indefatigably” here at The BRAD BLOG, as Hasen is kind enough to point out/link to, his article summarizing the rise and fall of one of this century’s most insidious assaults on American values under the guise of the ACVR GOP front-group fraud comes not a moment too soon.
Let’s see if the rest of the MSM catches onto it, and if they’re able to advance the story a bit to finally begin peaking under the filthy stained ACVR sheets to figure out who was really pulling the strings behind the scam…not to mention funding it.
As mentioned, perhaps more later on this, as I’m currently in the middle of a thing or two, but wanted folks to catch — and read — Hasen’s critical exposé, as the breadth of the full story is finally told somewhere other than here(!), and before it gets too late on a Friday.
Now Brad don’t go getting all uppity on me 🙂
Looking up…

You’re welcome. And I wear the “indefatigable” moniker proudly. Ever since John Conyers described me as “the indefatigable Brad Friedman” in one of his blog postings.
On the other hand, my girlfriend has taken to referring to me lately as Tenacious B, which I’ll wear just as proudly 🙂
Sign the Petition — Don’t Let Congress Ruin the Internet
Right now Congress is being pushed to abandon the First Amendment of the Internet — a principle called “network neutrality” that preserves the free and open Internet. Congress needs to hear from you today or they will hand over control of what you do online to companies like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast. Politicians are trading favors for campaign donations from these companies. They’re being wooed by people like AT&T’s CEO, who says “the Internet can’t be free.” Sign this petition to tell your elected representatives to protect Internet freedom now. When you fill out the information and push submit, they will automatically send it to your Members of Congress. Please Take ONE MINUTE and vote:

What a journalistic run Brad, the facts and faces you paid attention to and investigated. Now the intricacies are taking shape, a living crime tapestry. Thanks for weaving it together for us. You rock.

The facts presented in the background research on this matter firmly support this reality:
(Krugman, NYT (Raw Story), emphasis added). That is the result of the demise of the republican party. A demise which occurred at the apex of their recent power.
It is really simple, the republicans were infected with the obviously unAmerican neoCon virus. They quickly adopted a foreign policy of “new world order thru US military / oil domination“, which began with “a new Pearl Harbor” instigated by PNAC members Rumsfeld, Cheney, Perle, Wolfowitz, and others.
The domestic policy was to support the foreign policy thru deceit of Americans and thereby grab domestic power wherever and whenever it arose. A neoCon congress cut the path thru this wilderness for them by becoming a rubber stamp for fascism.
Middle east military domination to control oil has been the primary foreign policy, while election systems control has been the primary domestic target, with civil rights demise a close second.
Somehow they were not able to stop the massive backlash of the will of the people in the ’06 election, and therefore the democrats took the majority in the Senate and the House.
Since then the cover of the neoCons has been blown in several areas. We have seen the tip of the iceberg, and some of us have looked over into the rest of the iceberg (thru the telescope of mistrust of power) and it is incredibly scary.
I can’t find the Rudy Giuliani Saturday Night Live videos on YouTube where he did a skit where he was crossdressing. If you put “Saturday Night Live” in YouTube, you get 9,000+ hits. If you add the word “Rudy” to it, you get ZERO! I’ve seen them there before, and now they’re gone. If you can find them on YouTube, please post them here. Did they scrub them? In fact, I couldn’t find the SNL/Rudy crossdressing video ANYWHERE on the internet.
And it’s not this one:
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1...liani_in_drag/
That’s ANOTHER Rudy Giuliani crossdressing video. He’s a transvestite, and no one is talking about this! He crossdresses……….A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is serious!
Where’s the SNL video of Rudy crossdressing? If you can find it on YouTube or the internet, post it here. I think it’s been scrubbed.

SHOULD THIS MAN BE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT??????????
He said “Thank God George W. Bush is president”…as NYC lay in disaster on 9/11.
As my house lay in ruins, ransacked by a burglar, I looked around and said, “Thank God I have ‘Crazy Uncle Joe’s Burglar Security System’ installed in my home!!!!!!!!!”
How did Giuliani and the Republicans TWIST around being incompetant in keeping 3,000 Americans safe…into being the “security party”?????????
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT TO ME?????????????
We bust Ann Coulter with the tranny and adam’s apple jokes, but here’s a guy who is actually a transvestite…(documented)…AND HE’S RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT…AND NO ONE’S MENTIONING IT!!!!!!!!!!!
CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s NOT “OK”…because if a Democrat was a transvestite, it would be all over the CMSM!!!!!!!!!!
The wonderful series of articles mentioned in this post and other related Brad posts, and in the links in them, will generate a new outbreak of cognitive dissonance.
That is the symptom and the professional crisis which makes the MSM all it can be. 🙂
Brad, thanks for the in depth coverage on this issue. However, please keep an eye on Progressive Policy Council, a group that TPM reported had connection to ACVR right before the 06 election. PPC was a fake front responsible for mailing flyers criticizing Bob Casey (now D-PA) for being insufficiently progressive, claiming he was similar to Rick Santorum. (I recieved 3 different versions of this mailer). They now have a website (a .org) which claims Full Site Coming Soon! Copyright is dated 2007, but there is no content, and only a link for email. Have to wonder what these guys are up to.

Progressive policy council learned a thing or two from the ACVR domain registration.
Brad was able to glean a great deal of info (as most anyone could) by researching the WHOIS record information for the ACVR’s registration.
In the past, that information as all made public.
That all started changing a couple years ago, ICANN dropped their requirements for public contact info, and now…it seems…PPC is not publishing any contact or administrative info publicly.
they have registered with “domain discreet” set, so no names, but phone numbers and mailing addresses are thus:
P.O. Box 278
Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
Canada – B5A 4B2
1.902-749-5331
the above info is the same for admin contact as well as tech contact.

Cross dressing is tame. Tom Foley is tame! The neoCon infestation has no limits:
(Argus, emphasis added). If you read the story it is an incredible micro-cosm of the Iraq war:
(ibid). Sounds so like the “____ in chief” who tells many stories of how much better off Iraq is now that the neoCons have “liberated” them.
I expect preznit blush to say “I am very fondle of Iraqi children”.
The problem with Hasan’s analysis, and almost every “exposé” of ACVR and the voter fraud faux scandal is that they miss one of the two main points of the scheme. One is to suppress turnout, but the other is to misdirect attention, by confusing vote fraud with election fraud.
So now even as the “voter fraud” faux scandal unravels, rather than shining on a light on the scandalous condition of election administration in this country and actual stolen elections, Hasan and the rest give the impression that elections are basically sound and that those who say otherwise (not only ACVR, but also you, me, MCM, RFK, etc”¦) are doing so untruthfully and for other motives. In Hasan’s mind, the election law scholars mind, and the public mind, you, me, RFK, MCM, etc “¦ are all mixed in together with ACVR and the Bush administration as unscrupulous radical partisans.

The count on prosecutions for illegal use of electronic voting machines is zero.
The reason is that truth is constantly being cast out from the Department of
JusticeJust Us:(John Dean, emphasis added). With an imaginary issue (voter fraud) and an ignored real issue (insecure electronic voting machine systems) there is little hope for prosecutions for fraudulent use of the machines. That is, until Gonzales goes and the DOJ is cleaned up.
And, FINALLY, they are getting around to taking a look at Hans von Spakowsky. Jeff Toobin’s 2004 piece in The New Yorker (Google it, “Poll Position”) gave the heads up on this THREE YEARS AGO. It’s only because von Spakowsky is a 2005 recess appointment and is supposed to come up for confirmation in June.

Good article in your link. I read it.
I don’t know if you read the article I linked to in post #15, but it is an eye opener and has some thoughts that most americans, including congress, do not contemplate often:
(John Dean Link, post #15, emphasis added). Obviously Gonzales and the other Rove-bots have not studied american law, and do not realize the power the people have that they have said “fuck you” to several times.
