Joel That line in the description about how this is 'the mark of a new era on Artoffact Records' makes me super happy! If there is to be a full album in the future, I will absolutely be pre-ordering that vinyl.
Edit/Addendum: Yep, there it is. Happily pre-ordered. Damn that's a beautiful pressing!

Jian Bastille The Tear Garden, who is always harrowing with a sense of levity, is rich in its legacy, still, evident in this single, magnificent track. Of this Dark Hope, Edward, cEvin and company is teasing us with "A Return," then "Tired Eyes Slowly Burning" may have some competition in my eyes. It's glorious. It's everything I wanted when I heard of a new TTG release. I am f**king elated! THANK YOU. Hope to see you on tour! Favorite track: A Return.

about

The Tear Garden's new track, "A Return," ushers listeners into a familiar yet evolved soundscape, showcasing a deliberate step back towards their more electronic and atmospheric roots. The song weaves intricate synth textures with subtle, propulsive rhythms, creating a dreamlike, almost melancholic ambiance. Edward Ka-Spel's distinct vocals drift over layers of sound, evoking a sense of introspection and longing, while cEvin Key's masterful production provides a rich, immersive backdrop that feels both expansive and intimately personal. "A Return" serves as a poignant echo of their earlier works, as well as the mark of a new era on Artoffact Records.

lyrics

Count the seconds, add 13

I'll be there on your empty screen,

The chandelier... on your left knee

A promise is a promise

Count your blessings up to 12

I'm in your kitchen, raising Hell..

The smoke alarm lets out a yelp

I promised....

I'll come back

I'll come back

( like I never left...)

Your touching words

Up on the hill

Gave me the courage and the will

To find your tragic windowsill

I promised....

I'll come back

I'll come back

Are you anxious? Are you pleased ?

No earthly reason for the priest

These walls are soft..

Don't need a key

I promised....

I'll come back
