Twilight Meridian Items (Freebie, Gear)

The Twilight Meridian is an odd place, a region of true contrasts where dusk and dawn meet and fade away. Outer World's most active region in terms of mercantile and maritime exploits, it happens to also be the place one is most likely to find items from other regions sitting alongside local ones on a street stand or shop shelf.

Midday Gourds (Trade Goods)
These colorful fruits flourish throughout the Twilight Meridian. They come in a variety of colors that denote different flavors (with pink being tart, blue being sour, etc and so forth). Some grow quite large and are even occasionally used as homes by eccentric sorts. People tend to only sell the more reasonably sized ones at markets, however.
  • Midday Gourds are trade goods from the Twilight Meridian, taking up 3 slots as normal and costing 25 Coins in that region and 75 Coins in any other.

Pokko-Do (Mount, Swim)
Slender, elegant cousins of the Mokko-Do and Rokko-Do, Pokko-Do are famous for their graceful swimming and deft, fish catching beaks. They prove invaluable for those traveling the waterways of the Galvanus Archipelago or Seven Sacred Isles. While most have white feathers, there are a few variants such as pale yellow and light green.

Hearts: 3 ATK: +0 DEF: 11 (12) Speed: Fast

Might: 8 Deft: 8 Grit: 5 Ins: 5 Aura: 5

  • Mount Abilities
    • Water Fowl: Pokko-Do are graceful swimmers, able to stay afloat as long as they are not Overburdened.
    • Fishing Buddy: While plants will do, Pokko-Do love fish most of all. If you take a Pokko-Do along with you while Fishing, you gain and Major (+4) Bonus on your Check to see if you catch anything.
    • Grazing: Pokko-Do's require an environment with lots of plants and/or fish to Graze, preferring river banks and other freshwater bodies.
  •  Inventory Slots: 12 with Harness
  •  Fighting: Long, curved beak strikes as a Quick Weapon
  •  Cost: 160 Coins

Dusk Amber (Magic Stone)
This pale orange stone is very rare, forming in the sky where day and night meet thanks to the congealing of a mixture of energies. Occasionally shards of it rain down from the sky above the Seven Sacred Isles and Night Haven for lucky inhabitants to collect. Items made from Dusk Amber are translucent, with anything seen through them appearing a bit better than normal.
  • 150 Coins Per Slot

Crystal Wine, Liquid (Magical Consumable)
Made from the glass grapes found in Night Haven vineyards, this delicious, mana absorbing alcohol retains its delightful fizz even when left exposed. While it can be imbibed as a Basic Potion without any extra work, most people use it to make magical concoctions.
  • 50 Coins Per Slot

Wistful Dark Items (Freebie, Gear)

The land of eternal night is known for its bitter cold and dangerous shadows, but it gives as well as it takes. Its very nature demands a certain creativity from crafters, who are in turn provided with materials and circumstances that can't be found anywhere else on Outer World.

Star-Flash Snapper (Combustible/Chemical)
Made from shavings from Star Shards combined with explosive powder, Snappers explode harmlessly but create a potent flash of pure light. These pellets are most deployed by Nightwall Yeomen who use them to chase of monsters from the Shadowed Lands or blind more mundane ruffians.
  • A Star-Flash Snapper can be thrown up to 1 Battlefield Area away.
  • Anyone in the Battlefield Area where the Snapper goes off is a target.
  • Targets must make a Grit Check
    • Failure: They are Blinded/Deafened from the flash. In addition, creatures vulnerable to sunlight (such as a Shadow Beast) incur the Terrified Ailment.
    • Success: They avoid any ill effect.
  • 1 Slot, 25 Coins

Glow Grub (Pet)
An offshoot of the Pudge Grub that, true to its name, shines as brightly as any lantern. Scholars are stumped as to how this happens exactly, and it is a rare and oddly useful enough occurrence to mean the creatures are considered to be very valuable.
  • Glow Grubs are identical to Pudge Grubs (PG 189 of the BREAK!! rulebook) with the additional Ability
    • Grubbily Incandescent: Glow Grubs function as Illumination Gear (PG 175 of the BREAK!! rulebook).
  • 4 Gems

Night Silk (Magic Fabric)
A pleasantly soft cloth produced by Luna moths. It is always a rich dark color, making anything its made of appear to be draped in shadow. While not as fashionable as its sister fabric Twilight Silk, it has its proponents in avant-garde tailors and designers and is widely accepted as the best material for magical sleepwear.
  • 150 Coins per Slot

Lurk Moss (Additive)

Growing exclusively on forgotten rocks and trees within the Murk, this fuzzy purple plant is known to swallow sound and deflect notice - which does explain why it can be so hard to find!

  • Imbuable Abilities
  • Empowering: Imbued items provide you with an Edge on Stealth rolls while acting as a scout on a Journey or Exploring. However, it also absorbs the sound of your voice which makes speaking while utilizing this item impossible.
  • Glamor: Imbued items lessen the impact of your presence. Unless you did something particularly impressive or memorable, anyone trying to recall if you were present at an event or situation needs to make an Insight Check to do so.
  • 50 Coins Per Unit

Blazing Garden Items (Freebie, Gear)

Those wandering the Blazing Garden have to contend with the unique dangers of the region, including extreme heat, massive monsters, or the occasional overbearing devotee of the emperor. By the same token however, this does provide an opportunity to claim some of the treasures of the sun soaked land that might be difficult to find anywhere else!

Grapple Shot (Basic Gadget)
These small devices are said to be copies of one of the relics used by Emperor Regulus himself. Able to launch and retract a hooked chain at varying speeds, it’s simple, versatile, and visually impressive.
  • Grapple Shots may function as both Climbing Gear and a Lash Melee Weapon, as described in the BREAK!! Core Rulebook.

  • At the GM’s discretion they may be used in non-standard but logical ways, such as being used to pull yourself across a chasm.

  • Cost: 35 Coins (1 Slot)

Shellstomp (Packbeast)

These armored creatures can be found all along the coasts of the Blazing Garden. While slow, their toughness and ability to swim make them useful beasts of burden for those that live there.

Hearts: 4 ATK: +0 DEF: 16 Speed: Slow

Might: 9 Deft: 3 Grit: 11 Ins: 3 Aura: 3

  • Pack Beast Abilities
    • Turtling: A Shellstomp is able to parry a single non-magical attack once per combat in the same manner as a Large Shield.
    • Paddler: Shellstomps are great swimmers, able to stay afloat as long as they are not Overburdened.
    • Grazing: They require an environment with plenty of greenery to Graze.
  •  Inventory Slots: 16 with Harness
  •  Fighting: Bite strike as a Standard Weapon. Yeowch!
  •  Cost: 435 Coins

Strengthened Scroll Reed (Magic Wood)

Occasionally, mana traveling along the surface of rivers coalesces within the reeds along the riverbank, bolstering their resilience and ability to absorb enchantment. They can be distinguished from normal reeds thanks to their bright blue coloring.

  • Objects made with Strengthened Scroll Reeds are very flexible and can be bent significantly more than similar items made with other materials.
  • Cost: 150 Coins Per Slot

Spriki Nut (Solid Consumable)
Found in crooked trees that grow in the remote oasis’s and along secluded riverbeds, these hardy nuts can be ground into a firm paste that absorbs magic with ease.
  • Anything edible made with Spriki Nuts is delightfully crunchy and makes a great deal of noise when eaten.
  • Cost: 50 Coins per Unit

Shimmering Feathers (Additive)
These golden feathers belong to terrifying mega-fauna known as Golden Tyrants. It's theorized their unnatural shine and special properties are due to absorbing the rays of the Sun Machine as they mature.
  • Attack Ability: The Item may unleash a burst of Bright Mana once per day. Anyone within 1 Area of the bearer must make a successful Grit Check or be Blinded/Deafened for 2 Turns. This Ability may only be used once every 24 hours.
  • Defense Ability: The bearer of the item takes 1 Heart less Bright Damage from an Ability or attack that causes it. This can nullify damage taken completely.
  • Eldritch: When uncovered this item glows faintly, granting light in a manner equivalent to a lantern.
  • Cost: 50 Coins per Unit
