This 1971 Datsun 510 two-door is said to have been refurbished under prior ownership and was acquired by the seller in 2021. The car is powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in bronze over replacement tan leather upholstery. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, body-color bumpers, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an AM stereo, Bluetooth connectivity, Boston Acoustics door speakers, and a roll bar. Work performed under current ownership included resurfacing the intake manifold ports as well as replacing the carburetor, fuel lines, and fuel tank. This 510 is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was reportedly refinished in Caramel Bronze Pearl under previous ownership. The wheel arches have been flared, and the seller notes evidence of prior bodywork and areas of filler. Exterior details include gold pinstripes on the hood, yellow high-beam headlights, body-color bumpers, rear vent windows, and aftermarket window tint. The windshield wiper arms are removed, and the seller notes that the paint is separating in a number of areas, photos of which can be viewed in the gallery below.
Black 15″ Panasport-style wheels are wrapped in 195/50 front and 205/50 rear Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2 tires. The seller notes that aftermarket springs have been installed, and the steering components are in need of a refresh. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features replacement bucket seats trimmed in tan leather upholstery that extends to the door panels. Appointments include carpeted floor mats, manual-crank windows, a heater, an AM stereo, Boston Acoustics door speakers, a graphic equalizer, Bluetooth connectivity, a clear shift knob, a body-color roll bar, and a trunk-mounted subwoofer.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 73k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.6-liter inline-four is equipped with a replacement Weber 40DCOE carburetor as well as a K&N intake filter, an MSD ignition coil, NGK spark plug wires, and an aftermarket aluminum radiator. The seller states that the intake manifold ports were resurfaced under current ownership. The paint is flaking from various surfaces under the hood.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Work performed under current ownership is said to have included replacing the fuel lines, fuel pump, and fuel tank.
