This 1993 Porsche 968 Club Sport is one of approximately 1,900 examples built during three years of production, and it was originally delivered to Germany before being imported to the US in 2023. It is finished in Maritime Blue over black cloth and powered by a 3.0-liter inline-four paired with a six-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, 17″ Cup alloy wheels, a sport suspension, a rear spoiler, Recaro bucket seats, a CD stereo, and air conditioning. The timing belt and water pump were replaced in 2022, and the selling dealer acquired the car in 2023. This 968 Club Sport is now offered in Knoxville, Tennessee as part of the Harper Porsche collection at no reserve with a Porsche Production Specifications certificate, service records beginning in 2022, and a Pennsylvania title.
The Club Sport was a track-oriented variant of the 968 that was offered outside the US from late 1992 through 1995. This example was not optioned with a sunroof and is finished in Maritime Blue (38B) with pop-up headlights, fog lights, body-color mirror caps, and 968 CS rear badging. The seller notes dings on the driver’s door.
Body-color 17″ Cup alloy wheels are mounted with Pirelli P Zero tires measuring 225/45 up front and 255/40 out back. The Club Sport model featured revised suspension with a 20mm-lower ride height compared to the standard 968. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with Porsche-branded calipers at each corner. The brake fluid was flushed and the power steering spacer bolt and tension rod replaced in preparation for the sale.
The Club Sport was 220 pounds lighter than the standard 968, and weight-saving measures included a factory non-airbag steering wheel and deleted rear seats and sound deadening. The cabin features lightweight body-color Recaro seats upholstered in black cloth along with color-coordinating door panels and carpeting. A Blaupunkt CD stereo has been added, and the car is equipped with air conditioning and manual windows. The seller notes that the driver’s seat cushion velcro is weak and does not stay in place under load.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 300-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,600-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and battery voltage. The six-digit odometer was replaced in 2003 at approximately 75k kilometers (~47k miles), and the odometer now shows 25k kilometers (~15k miles), though it is inaccurate. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.0-liter inline-four features VarioCam variable valve timing and was factory rated at 236 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The timing belt and water pump were replaced in Germany in 2022 along with the spark plugs, valve cover gasket, ignition sensor, battery, and hood struts. An oil change was performed and the air filter replaced in 2024.
The Porsche Production Specifications certificate lists the factory colors and optional equipment.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage with a single entry in September 2023.
The Pennsylvania title lists “Out of Country” under the brands section.
