New EP release, 'Voices' sees his wide palette well quenched with something for everyone. Opening with 'National Anthem' we are drawn into a world of precision breakbeats, wildly energetic bass and unnerving synth power. Gripped by the first wave of saw-toothed wonderment, it's few who resist his charms! On 'Tambora: A Year Without Sun' deep sonics set the tone as Third Son deftly marries the sensibilities of UK Garage with classic Nu Skool drum work. Think The Prodigy vs The Chemical Brothers. 'Boards' takes the breaks deeper, darker and more electro. Huge 808s lead the charge as the pads and nuanced FX bubble and grow throughout. Rounding out the pack is crossover Tech cut, 'Cognitive Dissonance'. Again, strong drum programming drives this track forwards as Third Son expertly adds layers of percussive tension and pads. For those who may not know: #BandcampFriday is when #bandcamp waives its share of sales revenue, leaving it all to the selling artists and labels. It started during the #COVID lockdowns as a way to support musicians whose livelihood depended on live performances.
Since bandcamp was sold a few years back, and then again, and then (I think) again, I've been awaiting and dreading the requisite #enshittification. To my knowledge it's been pretty much operating like good ol' bandcamp. Long may she waive!
Bandcamp finally updated their CC license option to 4.0? 🙌 When did that happen? Felt like they were never going to change that.

"An ambitious journey in search for Stillness. Samuel loaded his bike with camping equipment and a portable music set-up, and headed out into the wild Highlands of Scotland for 10 days in search of some of the most remote locations in the U.K to compose music, inspired by the feeling of stillness. The journey would take him up mountains, into caves, past crystal blue lochs and into make shift studio spaces in remote 'bothies' (stone shelters) to create a new collection of songs.
Sonically the record focuses on hypnotic synthesised arpeggiations and subtle field recordings, all written on a portable synthesizer/sequencer set-up stashed in a pannier bag. The music reflects the cyclical and peaceful nature of cycle touring, and the way that an adventurer can harmoniously interact with natural landscapes through a method of environmentally conscious travel that can be slow and meaningful.
Beyond the inspiring vast and remote landscapes of the far north of Scotland, an interpretation of the feeling of Stillness can be seen in the relationship and presence of Samuel's friend Jordan who joined for the trip, to film, take photographs and fish the lochs and coast. The two form a peaceful and unspoken symbiosis crafting, navigating, cooking and exploring throughout the full film, in a way that feels poignant and sympathetic to the search for stillness."

State of Being.....the quality of existence, in terms of thoughts, emotions, or physical well-being. The overall mental and emotional state of an individual at a particular moment......
As usual it was recorded live in the Studio using hardware synths and only light mastering with a DAW. The main syth that persists is the Instruo Arbhar in my modular system although it's often fed through a couple of tape loops and/or a Chase-Bliss Mood pedal.

I just released my first song of 2026 over on Bandcamp. This one was inspired by listening to a lot of K-pop/J-pop, and a desire to see how many voice banks I could corral into one song. It tells the story of a girl band that goes hiking in the woods, finds a spaceship, and decides to take it to Mars to party. As one does.

Hi All - I have a new track out today called "89 Seconds". I would appreciate you reading the following even if you are not interested in my music.
On January 27th the Doomsday Clock will be updated for 2026. In the past year it stood at 89 seconds to midnight - the nearest to midnight it has ever been. I am sure it will closer in 2026. Have we learnt nothing?
The words spoken on the track are mostly mine but the main theme "Dulce et Decorum Est" is from the war poet - Wilfred Owen. I have borrowed from him - he is after all a great poet while I am not. Do listen to the original - it should be compulsory for everyone to read or listen to. The patriotic war is of course the great lie.
The track came about after watching the body of a young Palestinian child being buried. If watching that doesn't make you cry then nothing ever will.
Until January 27th any money received will go to a Palestinian Charity. This is the least I can do........ Please note this applies to purchases only and not streams.

The cover artwork I made for my track Amanda and the Trash Panda. It shows two anthropomorphic MOULE WORLD cartoon animal characters: Amanda, a grey tuxedo cat, and The Trash Panda, a raccoon without a mouth.
In the corner of an alleyway, Amanda grins mischievously, looking back at the secret Bug data centre they just set fire to, with a fuel can left behind and wires dangling and sparking everywhere. Amanda holds a red USB stick with a skull-and-crossbones symbol on it. Meanwhile, the Trash Panda's eyes are closed in happiness as he runs off beside Amanda with RAM stolen from the servers.
Behind the Trash Panda is a missing poster of Rocky, a fellow raccoon, smiling widely and giving a thumbs-up gesture, almost as if smiling down on Amanda and the Trash Panda's data centre destruction. It's possible the pair don't even care about the broader positive effects their actions have just caused, and they just set out for some fun mischief. Or maybe they know something the Cyber Threat Resistance League doesn't?
