Like this top I finished today, many of my quilts are scrappy designs so I can use fabrics from my stash instead of shopping in person for new fabric and many of my quilt designs include words because I metaphorically lost my voice when isolating for my immunocompromised partner’s health became imperative

6+ years on I’m still screaming inside my heart

Two color, exploding heart-themed quilt top shown in full on a design wall. The oversized central heart is pieced from scrappy yellow fabrics; that central image is outlined in the dark grey. Then triangles of more yellow explode outward against dark grey to fill the remainder of the top. Pieced dark grey letters in the central heart read “please scream inside your heart”

*Whether or not you're looking for a Covid Safe Date, please share this post. Because it's super difficult for people who avoid Covid to find love online.*

Covid Safe Date is now a feature full online dating website for adults of all genders and sexual orientations around the world who take avoidance seriously.

We have a few dozen members already, join us!

You may have Long Covid or you may be Novid.

You may have been engaging in consistent Covid safety practices since 2020, or you may have just started properly avoiding Covid recently.

You may have a shitty job that forces you to be maskless in order to stay employed. You may share a household with people who don't avoid the plague like the plague.

But as much as possible, you wear a respirator mask in public. People thinking you look weird or peer pressure isn't enough to make you go maskless. You would only risk another infection with a possibly permanently destructive virus if you feared losing your income, or feared violence, or had to get a medical procedure where you couldn't be masked the whole time.

You absolutely would never go inside a restaurant to eat ever again. Restaurant food can be takeout or delivery. Food can be cooked at home.

Whether you've been infected several times or never, you know the best course of action is to avoid as many infections in the future as possible because the harm is cumulative.

Whether or not you keep vaxxed, you understand that the vaccine doesn't stop infection, you still must wear a respirator mask.

You understand the importance of good indoor ventilation and filtering, but you know a public place with a good air quality rating doesn't mean it's safe to take your respirator mask off. You know people get infected outdoors too if they're very close to other people.

When I tell you that Dr. Hoerger's data shows there's more Covid spreading now than at any point in 2020, you're saddened but you're not shocked. You know Covid is far from over.

And if this applies to you and you actually avoid the plague like the plague, chances are dating websites will be hostile to you if you mention Covid safety.

People have anecdotally had a hard time finding romance on CovidMeetups, because it's not really a dating website but a better place to meet friends or find dentists.

That's why Covid Safe Date exists. It may be the only dedicated part of the internet specifically for Covid avoiders to date and possibly fall in love.

Our services will always be 100% free-of-charge. There's no "premium" tier, all features are available to all users.

And for that reason, Covid Safe Date needs donations from people who can afford to do so, so I can keep paying for web hosting and paying my developers who have Long Covid and are struggling generously for their labor.

            covidsafedate.com/we-need-your

I'm also the founder of Stop Gen AI, so you'd better believe that there is absolutely zero AI on Covid Safe Date. Our web platform and service is completely human crafted and maintained.

We are a space that's LGBTQIA+, neurodivergence, disability, and poverty inclusive.

Right now, out there are parents of severely disabled children who don't mask because their doctors told them that "it is not necessary". There are nurses telling them that they don't need to vaccinate, and scare them with "vaccine injuries". So, these parents are getting their vunerable kids re-infected with respiratory viruses over and over again, and the kids are the ones suffering the most and being pasted in social media because their parents remain clueless of covid.

Why wouldn’t people prefer not to get sick? Wearing a respirator is so easy to do.

How is it possible for hospitals, nursing homes and other health-care employers to allow respiratory PPE that doesn’t fit the legal standard previously set for protecting workers against an airborne hazard?

Simple. They just fail to explicitly state the virus is airborne.

Hi, these are the weekly (that is, and environs) toots. A quick reminder that this King County respiratory disease data comes from Washington State, not the federal government.

The West Point (WSPT) sewage treatment plant's 7 day running average of its detected Sars-CoV-2 levels is low. The last calculation was made on 3/10. Note: the wastewater numbers for the three King County sites didn't get updated last week, but it looks like they have been backfilled now.

WSPT is one of three King County(-ish) sewersheds in this dataset. You can find overviews, individual sewershed results, and a breakdown of variants for the state wastewater surveillance program, along with other metrics like case counts and hospitalizations for Covid-19 and other respiratory illnesses, at doh.wa.gov/data-and-statistica. If you go to the page and click "learn more" in the statewide view tab, you can find out lots of details about how these data are calculated and how to interpret them. The dashboard gets updated every Wednesday (generally). The Department of Health is here on the fediweb, at @WADeptHealth

A screencap of the Washington State Department of Health's Covid wastewater data for the West Point Wastewater Treatment Plant. The trend line of the graph is described in the toot text.

Here's more from @TheConversationUS on how the rapid spread of vaccine misinformation is threatening the development of this potentially transformative technology.

To be fair, Biden let us down to start with: gave in to pressure for profit. When banks made catastrophic terrible decisions in 2008, we had hundreds of billions to bail them out. When poor people needed healthcare and protection from COVID, it was important to take our lumps and get back to work.

SARS-CoV-2 infection induces global alterations of the host endomembrane system, including dramatic Golgi fragmentation

In contrast to the well-organized ribbon-like structure in uninfected cells, as labeled by the Golgi protein GRASP65, the Golgi was seen as small fragments dispersed in the entire cytoplasm in infected cells
