Habt Ihr je schon mal gelesen keine Angst vor einer #Windows, #MSOffice etc installation?
#opensource zu nutzen ist das natürlichste was es seit Jahrzehnten gibt.
Haftet dem doch nichts negatives an.
I found https://odftoolkit.org/conformance/ODFValidator.html which looks to be roughly what I'm looking for. Unfortunately it points at quite a lot that's not strict ODF compliant. When setting the save format to 1.4 instead of 1.4 Extended, it comes out clean; but I don't see any ready indication of what, if anything, I've done which is lost in the process. (The resulting file is *much* smaller.)
For a given document, saved as OpenDocument, in LibreOffice, is there a hopefully convenient way to *locally* (no cloud service) find out which (if any) features it uses which can not be represented in the strict standard ODF format but only in Extended? (For example: if one switches from ODF "1.4 Extended" to "1.4" what breaks?)
It's fine if it's just a list like "this document uses the following features somewhere that require Extended".

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit mit #libreoffice #impress eine Präsentation zu erstellen welche ich "konfigurieren" kann. Das bedeutet das wenn ich zb 100 Folien habe mit einer Konfiguration 50 folien zeige, mit anderer 70 und mit einer weiteren andere 70?
Würde gerne eine große Präsi (Foliensatz ca. 3h) aufteilen und je nach bedarf schnell anpassen können...

Nextcloud läuft auch und ich bin schon sehr weit , alle Daten von OneDrive weg zu bringen.
Herausforderung im Moment sind Excel Dokumente auf #LibreOffice Calc zu bringen. Leider gar nicht geil. #OnlyOffice habe ich irgendwie Bedenken.

Anybody know how to force LibreOffice to default to exporting PNG instead of WebP?
Specifically, I use Impress as a way to make quick and lazy graphics and then export to PNG. But for some damn reason it always defaults to WebP, which I do not want and have been unable to find the toggle to make it not do that.
It does not, as one might hope, remember the last setting used. Nope. Always WebP.
(Also, why of all formats would it be set to export to WebP and not JPEG or PNG?)

Blev dog urolig da første test ikke markerede stavefejl, men fandt så ud af at få installeret udvidelsen.
Ældre lidt hakket brugergrænseflade, men ser ud til at være funktionsrig og man er i kontrol med ens publikation.

So, I started to volunteer in our local community centre to help (mostly) elder people with their computer and smartphone problems.
It's fascinating. We have people there up to their 90s and they are all every open for change.
We remove ad ID's from phones, change default browsers, switch from MS Office to #Libreoffice.
And for next time I already have a date with an elder lady to switch her old Windows 10 laptop to Linux Mint.
And she is not the only one!

Ich möchte Daten, die sich täglich ändern über eine SST bei einem Anbieter im Internet einlesen. Und zwar immer alle Daten, die ich nich nicht eingelesen habe. Diese werden in der DB gespeichert. Also quasi historisiert.
Daraus sollen dann zwei Mittelwerte über Zeit gebildet werden. Diese Daten möchte ich dann nach LO Calc exportieren und eine Grafik dieser drei Werte über die Zeit anzeigen lassen.
Eine andere Lösung fällt mir dafür leider adhoc nicht ein als LO Base zu benutzen.
Schöner wäre es natürlich das zu automatisieren. Immer zu einer bestimmten Uhrzeit an einem Tag die aktuellen Werte lesen und in eine DB speichern.
Ich habe zwar einen Webspace im Netz, wo ich auch eine MySQL DB dabei habe zum Speichern. Da könnte ich dann mit PHP vielleicht was zurecht fummeln. Kenne ich aber beides nicht gut. Also weder PHP noch SQL.
Aber ich kann da keine Skripte zeitlich triggern um Daten zu lesen.

Was bin ich froh, dass ich, wenn ich das lese, nicht mehr sofort schauen muss ob das Update verfügbar ist um es einzuspielen.
Kein MS #Windows, kein #Microsoft Office, kein Microsoft 365.
Ich bin so froh den Schritt hin zu #OSS gegangen zu sein. #Linux läuft klaglos. #LibreOffice sieht im Detail ein klein wenig anders aus und hat den einen oder anderen abweichenden Shortcut. Aber das ist alles kein Hexenwerk. Esntut was es soll, läuft gut und wenn man nicht #PowerUser ist fallen die kleinen Unterschiede nicht auf.
Die einzige #Software, die ich unter Linux vermisse ist #PowerBI. Da habe ich noch nix adäquates gefunden. Aber nur deswegen wieder Windows nutzen? Besonders #Windows11? Never!
Found out why #LibreOffice was acting strange. You get different results if you select a data series on an XY chart and then turn on data labels, than if you just turn them on without selecting anything. 🙄
Specifically, if you select the data series the software thinks to itself:
"User no longer wants labels from the label column he's indicated on the spreadsheet. Instead I assume that he wants me to use the coordinate values in the leftmost data column as labels. The values with a precision of at least ten decimal places. It's gonna be super informative."

Es geht noch mehr: Der Markdown-Import kann direkt mit unterschiedlichen Writer-Templates (*.ott) verbunden werden! Sprich: Die gleiche Markdown-Datei kann in Writer je nach Bedarf nicht nur unterschiedlich aussehen, sie kann auch unterschiedliche Zwecke erfüllen. Zum Beispiel aus den Markdown-Notizen ein Drehbuch erstellen usw.

In my experience, the #LibreOffice Calc "VALUEDATE" function can't parse most date text string formats that #Gnumeric and #Excel can handle.

Der Umstieg auf #Linux scheitert oft an einer Sache: #Office. Kann man #Word wirklich ersetzen, oder zerschießt es einem alle Dateien? Ich teste #Google #Docs, #LibreOffice und #OnlyOffice gegen meine persönliche "Horror-Datei".

Ich lese immer sehr viel von digitaler Unabhängigkeit. Bei Messengern weg von #WhatsApp. Beim Betriebssystem hin zu #Linux. #Libreoffice statt #MsOffice. Hin zu #Nextcloud und damit weg von #GoogleDrive, #iCloud, #Dropbox, #OneDrive & Co.
Bei Finanz lese ich aber immer nur #Wero statt #Paypal. Und da klemmt es schon. Wero ist unnötig kompliziert gemacht. Damit die Einstiegsschwelle hoch. Warum zum Teufel muss meine Bank es anbieten. Bei PayPal ist die Bank auch scheißegal.
Und worüber niemand spricht: Schaffen einer europäischen Alternative zu #Visa, #Mastercard, #AmericanExpress. Da müssen wir auch ran.

I forgot to mention as well that I replaced Edge browser (at work) with #vivaldi browser. Never looked back 🙃
- Amazon: this one is complicated, but I simply made a step back and realized that I am not supporting local businesses. I will now try to purchase local first, and if that is not possible, I will be looking for the stuff I want on the net via #ecosia (search engine, which I forgot to mention that I replaced google with), so that I purchase directly from small business (if possible)
- this one is simple, I revered curse and started purchasing blue rays again (movies), mp3 for music (no subscription)
- digital cloud and AWS where problematic, you get addicted to the ease of clouds: replacement’s: I de-centralized 1. #infomaniak_com (domain registrations) 2. #MythicalBeasts (cloud servers) from the UK 3. #BunnyVPN (this one is still in progress, but this will fully replace CloudFlare CDN)
- social media has been completely replaces with #mastodon
- MS Office on my private machines has been replaced with two packages: 1. #protonmail (email, calendar, and cloud drive) 2. #libreoffice for documents
This was not easy, but baby steps and we can get there!

Habe auf meinem alten Laptop #Linux #Mint Xfce installiert. Brauchte eine mobile Maschine zum Schreiben mit #LibreOffice. Und dann friert das Mistding nach 30 Minuten Schreibarbeit regelmäßig ein. Scheint bei Leistungsspitzen zu passieren.
Also Neustart und ran an den Terminal. Erst durch den Versuch #xubuntu drüberzuinstallieren, fand ich eine Fehlermeldung. Bin bei Mint geblieben und hoffe, ich habe das nun gefixt. Irgendwas mit einem Intel-Treiber. Hoffe nun klappt alles. Bisher läuft es.

@vonpearly @zendis Dieses Sabatical nicht. Aber München hat damals das Projekt #LiMux gehabt. Umstellung der Verwaltung auf #OpenSource. Das Projekt war Ende 2013 abgeschlossen, ein Erfolg und sparte Geld.
Es gab dann einen eMail-Blackout. Verursacht durch eine kommerzielle Software. Es lag nicht an #OSS. Dennoch wurde #FOSS in Frage gestellt.
#Microsoft zog dann den deutschen Hauptsitz 2016 um nach München. 2017 fiel im Stadtrat die Entscheidung alles zurück auf Windows.
Das zeitliche Zusammentreffen der letzten beiden Punkte zu beurteilen überlasse ich jedem selber. Ich weiß, was ich daraus schließe.
2020 beschloss die Stadtregierung dann zurück zu OSS zu gehen. Dieses wurde aber nie gemacht. Wer den Beschluss ignorierte und dagegen handelte ist mir nicht bekannt.
Ab 2022 kam dann auf alle Rechner #Windows und MS Office. #Libreoffice sollte dann bis 2023 auch wieder vollständig verschwinden.
