Marty Krátký-Katz posted thisHonored to have been invited onto The Trade Desk's The Build podcast to discuss my entrepreneurial journey: https://lnkd.in/gKuBCDG2 Most people know the version of the story where Blockthrough worked out swimmingly. They don't see the less successful startups that came before it, or the years spent trying ideas that looked promising but weren't. It's simultaneously true that superhuman persistence is a key ingredient to success, AND that knowing when to let something go, rebuild and make sure you're working with the right team is just as critical. Really enjoyed talking through that journey with Mike and Ian. Thanks also to Brian for helping to make it happen!

Marty Krátký-Katz reposted thisExcited to get to support the most exceptional founders! This is a reflection of the entire Neo community: builders turned mentors supporting each other in building the future. 💙Marty Krátký-Katz reposted this"Neo’s returns are leaving the rest of the crowd in the dust." The WSJ just featured Neo as one of the highest-performing VC firms of the decade. Marty Krátký-Katz reposted thisMarty Krátký-Katz reposted thisSwarmer (Nasdaq: #SWMR) went public today. Priced at $5. Opened at $11. Closed at $31. Barron's called it one of the most spectacularly mispriced IPOs in recent memory. Green Flag Ventures has been an investor and active supporter since 2024. I have the honor - and awesome responsibility - of serving on Swarmer's Board of Directors, so trust me when I relay this: the energy in the room today at Nasdaq was electric. Seems the market felt it too. Swarmer builds vendor-agnostic drone autonomy software. Y'all are waking up to how critical a need that is. They're battle-tested across 100,000+ combat missions in Ukraine. Congratulations to the entire Swarmer team, and to their early backers who invested before, with, and after us. Thank you to my cofounding partner Deborah, whose decade-long on-the-ground dedication to Ukraine's tech sector helped make this possible, long before it was inevitable. I reflect on and relate to my hero Marquis de Lafayette, who wrote: "My heart has always been truly convinced that in serving the cause of America, I am fighting for the interests of France." Above all, thank you to ALL #Ukrainians - founders and non founders alike - for bearing the Standard of self-determination. You asked for ammo, not a ride. When not enough arrived, you got to work building it. Now the world needs it. Now...back to work; miles to go before we sleep. #DefenseTech #Ukraine #Nasdaq #SWMR

Marty Krátký-Katz shared thisCongrats Gareth and the Gamera team! Super excited to be backing you guys 🚀Marty Krátký-Katz shared thisWe just closed our seed round at Gamera. The vision is simple -- we think that better tools for publishers to understand their websites will lead to better outcomes for buyers (and BTW, also better direct sales for publishers). Everyone makes more money when we claw budgets away from walled gardens. The age where Meta and middle men print money from programmatic's misguided us vs them / buy vs sell narrative is coming to an end, and Gamera is all 4 horsemen of its apocalypse. If you run a website, run a service for websites, or buy ad space on websites you should talk to us. Adexchanger article in comments.

Marty Krátký-Katz reposted thisMarty Krátký-Katz reposted thisLife update: earlier this year, I moved to SF and joined Neo! Having mentored Neo Accelerator teams since 2023, I’m excited to now support founders full-time as an investor and Head of Programs and Community. After my startup WFHomie was acquired by GoCo (now part of Intuit), I fully expected to go straight into building my next company. But then Ali Partovi and Emily Cohen invited me to be a mentor for Neo Accelerator. At first, I thought it might be a fun, short-term side quest, but I soon discovered that supporting early-stage founders was among the most meaningful and energizing things I’d ever done. I fell in love with helping driven, ambitious, kind and brilliant founders move faster and overcome their greatest challenges. I’m convinced beyond a doubt that the people we back at Neo are future tech leaders who are shaping the world for the better, and it’s a tremendous privilege to support them on their journey. Now that I’ve joined the “dark side” and become a VC, I feel fortunate to be on a team that is just as passionate about helping founders take their most ambitious swings. Thank you Ali, Suzanne, Vincent, Connor, Healy, Lauren, Natalie, Shriya and Ameya. I learn from you all every day and love being part of the community we’re shaping together! 💙 If you’re a technical founder or student who wants to learn more about Neo, join our Substack to be notified when our next program applications open: https://neo.substack.com/ We also lead pre-seed and seed rounds all year and are always excited to meet exceptional builders! Reach out to me or our team anytime, bonus points for warm intros through our community!

Marty Krátký-Katz reposted thisProud to share that after months of delivering double-digit incremental results for brands using Nishe landing pages + Rebuy’s Smart Cart, we’re officially announcing the first of many integrations with the team at Rebuy Engine! This one started over dinner early this year, huge shoutout to Rich Matukaitis for inspiring and driving this partnership, and to Adnan Shah, Kyle Panganiban, and Fiona Evans for their work on the integration. Big thanks as well to John Erck, James Van Erck, Eric Alder, and the entire Rebuy team, not just for being incredible partners, but for continuing to drive real, measurable impact for merchants. Nishe + Rebuy = 💰 With Nishe, brands turn ad clicks into personalized storefronts built for conversion. Rebuy picks it up from there, using Smart Cart to surface the right recommendations at just the right time. Together, we’re helping brands increase AOV, conversion rates, and overall revenue, with less effort. We’re just getting started, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead 🚀Marty Krátký-Katz reposted thisPart of winning BFCM isn’t just driving more traffic, it’s turning that traffic into bigger carts, higher ROAS, and repeat purchases. That’s why in this part of Rebuy’s BFCM Partner Plays, we’re leveraging unique site experiences to fuel sales. And in line with that mission, we’re excited to announce something new: Rebuy now integrates with Nishe! Nishe helps brands drive more revenue, higher ROAS, and lower CAC with fast, personalized, shoppable landing pages, built for you in minutes. This integration helps Shopify brands: ✨ Build landing pages with real-time product sync ✨ Use Rebuy’s Smart Cart to boost AOV and reduce cart abandonment ✨ Serve hyper-personalized product recommendations ✨ Offer one-click subscription switching - right from the cart Paid traffic costs spike during BFCM. Smart partners know the real win is connecting acquisition to an onsite experience built to convert. In short: Nishe + Rebuy = 💰 Learn more and get started with the Nishe integration: https://hubs.li/Q03yMfq20

Marty Krátký-Katz shared thisFull circle. It was 10 years ago last week that I met my Blockthrough cofounder Christopher Pyper at Startupfest in Montreal. In a stroke of poetic justice, we were invited to judge their Best of the Fest prize to commemorate our 10th anniversary. Can't wait to find out who'll be the next successful startup forged at Startupfest 🚀 Thanks, Katherine Johnsen for extending the invite, and thanks, Philippe Telio for creating the best startup event in Canada and for unwittingly birthing our company!

Marty Krátký-Katz liked thisMarty Krátký-Katz liked thisToday is Entrepreneur’s Day in Ukraine. I started in Kharkiv as a software engineer. Back then, the idea that teams from Ukraine would build products for the world’s largest companies felt like science fiction. Today it’s reality. We work with Fortune 500 companies and win in direct competition with the world’s top IT and defense players. Global banks, aviation, and automotive leaders trust us with their mission-critical systems. And the world’s defense giants come to learn speed of innovation from our teams. And here’s the bigger story: Ukrainian entrepreneurship has long gone global. We open offices across Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Asia, hire international teams, enter new markets, and acquire businesses abroad. This is no longer an outsourcing-country story — these are global companies with Ukrainian roots, competing wherever there’s a market. The best thing you can do with this kind of talent capital is multiply it. That’s why this year we’ve already launched 5 new companies in partnership with entrepreneurs: they get equity in the business, our engineering base, a global client network, and synergies with the entire ecosystem. We’re looking for the next ones — those ready to build a global business from day one. Entrepreneurship is a responsibility you take on voluntarily. But you don’t have to take it on alone. Reach out — don’t put your dreams and your search for partners on hold 🙂 Happy Entrepreneur’s Day! 🇺🇦

Marty Krátký-Katz liked thisMarty Krátký-Katz liked thisA recap of an emotional and impactful 2+ weeks in Ukraine with my mom, who came to bear witness and lend a hand during what has become the most intense and dangerous period of the war, specifically for civilians. We evacuated multiple trains, spent nights under ballistic missiles, and navigated 24/7 air alerts while Shahed drones rained down on Kyiv. The importance of foreigners continuing to support and witness the terror unfolding in Ukraine at the hands of ruzzia cannot be overstated. You cannot understand how difficult life is until you spend the "famous" first day of school locked in a shelter, knowing that every child, in year 5 of this war, is spending their entire school day in a shelter as well. You cannot understand the disgust you feel toward moral compromise until you spend your day on civilian trains, forced to evacuate because ruzzia has decided to specifically target civilian transportation. You cannot understand the exhaustion of days and nights spent going in and out of shelters, hearing explosion after explosion, hoping no one was killed. Despite it all, Ukraine is beautiful. My mom came to Ukraine to support me. She left understanding what is at stake for all of us. Anyone can make that trip. Freedom isn't inevitable. Democracy isn't guaranteed. We must continue to fight.

Marty Krátký-Katz liked thisMarty Krátký-Katz liked thisYesterday the Yalta European Strategy conference held in Kyiv, a British diplomat said that Ukraine needs to cut a deal. This presumes that Putin will cut a deal. His deal is the eradication of Ukrainian democracy and culture. A French diplomat said that Europe should demonstrate its resolve against Russia. He proposed massive military exercises around Kaliningrad to show Russia that Europe could easily take the territory. He also proposed similar exercises within Ukraine to show Russia that it cannot win against the might of European army. That sounds good. It’s far more than Europe is doing today and would establish that it has filled the gap left by the US retreat from the continent. But to what end? If Europe has the confidence that it can remove the threat of Russia in Kaliningrad and defeat Russia in Ukraine, why not just cut to the chase and do it? Unless Russia is defeated in Ukraine, the best case for Ukraine is not Finlandization but Georgianization. A potential member of Europe at the scale of another Poland will return to being a colony of Russia. This is not only a moral loss for Europe, but imperils its long term security by conforming its status as a paper tiger and providing Russian with the military might of Ukraine for the next phase of its war. #ww3 #ukraine #russia #geopolitics Irina Tsukerman Marijn Markus Marc C L.

Marty Krátký-Katz liked thisMarty Krátký-Katz liked thisWhen I refused a Pepsi the other day, the server asked me if I don’t like the taste of Pepsi. What I don’t like about Pepsi: it is an enthusiastic partnership with Putin in the murder of Ukrainians. PepsiCo is committed to Russia. Its business is 50% bigger than prior to 2022. Last year, PepsiCo paid $237mm into the Russian war machine. PepsiCo justifies its complicity on humanitarian grounds; ordinary Russians shouldn’t suffer from the war. What? Yes, that is the rationalization of their greed. Pepsi has donated less than $20mm in aid to Ukraine. Compare that to the $640mm in taxes PepsiCo has paid to Russia over the same period. That’s thousands and thousands of Shaheds. How does PepsiCo leadership sleep at night? Ukrainians do not sleep well. Would any of the board members care to join me in a bomb shelter tonight? Startup Visa Issue Delays of multiple years are fundamentally incompatible with the nature of early-stage entrepreneurship. This ineffective system: -Jeopardizes years of founder effort and R&D -Disrupts investor timelines and capital allocation -Damages Canada’s reputation as a global innovation leader -Discourages future founders from choosing Canada Start-ups cannot simply pick up where they left off after years of stagnation. In Canadian public practice, we talk a lot about "billable capacity" in January. But we rarely talk about something way more important to monitor - our "𝗖𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆." By mid-January, your team isn't just tired from the hours. They are drained by the "silent" tasks: - The 4th follow-up email to a client for their T4 information. - The anxiety of a potential CRA penalty for a client who is filing late. - The mental fatigue of context-switching between 50 different files a day. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: You can have the best AI in the world, but if your team is operating in a state of "survival mode," your firm will still underperform. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗲: 𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 "𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗱": Stop rewarding the person who stays latest. Start rewarding the person who automates a manual process so they can leave at 5:00 PM. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟱-𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 "𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻" 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗰: Before you dive into the T-slip status, ask your team: "What’s one thing on your desk that’s draining your energy right now?" 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 "𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁": Even in Jan/Feb, encourage a "Hard Stop" for internal pings after 7:00 PM. We believe that technology’s greatest gift isn't just "faster returns"—it's the gift of 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲. When an AI Agent handles the data-chasing, your team gets their brain back. The firm that wins 2026 isn't the one that works the most hours. It’s the one that protects its people’s focus so they can do the work they actually enjoy. Is your firm culture built for the "grind" or for the "long game"? #𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 #𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗜𝗻𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 #𝗖𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮 #𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 #𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 #𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 #𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽

AI is changing the game, but it still hasn’t found the "Cheat Code" to proprietary data. We talk a lot about the existential threat of AI, but as a leader, you have to look at what’s underneath the hype. At AutoTrader, our moat isn't just a brand; it's the massive, proprietary data ecosystem we’ve built over decades. Right now, AI models can only "hallucinate" or predict based on what’s public. They can't access the live, high-intent market data on our platform. By delivering these insights to our dealers and consumers in smart, efficient ways, we aren't just surviving the AI shift; we’re out-scaling it. How are you protecting your company’s "untouchable" data in the age of AI? Let’s discuss in the comments. #AutoTrader #GeorgeMienie #AIinAutomotive #ProprietaryData #DigitalTransformation
