Mimi spirit. Mimi are the spirits of Australia’s lands, skies, rivers and surrounding seas. These spirits are said to have taught the Aboriginal people all that they know about hunting, fishing, fire making, crafting and spiritual practices, and would come out at sunset to restore the lands, dance and converse with the Aboriginal people, depending on what type of Mimi they were, they may come out of rivers, shadows of trees, the sky, shadows/crevasses of the rocks and out of cave paintings.
