I traveled to Mexico in 1991 to see this total eclipse- 7 minutes of totality! We were on a mountain top at Xochicalco, about 45 minutes west of Cuernavaca, south of Mexico City. We were very lucky to see the entire eclipse, relatively unobscured. About 20k people showed up, including El Presidente himself. This was taken on Kodak Ektar film, ASA 25. This is the famous "diamond ring" effect that you get for a few seconds when the sun first reappears.
