Home at Number Fifty Five on Instagram: "Wardrobe reveal! 🤍 We went down the Ikea Pax hack route which I'm sure you're all familiar with but we did it a little differently. We used plain white Ikea doors (Forsand doors) to box in the top and bottom of the wardrobes to create the built in look, this meant that all of the wardrobes and the boxed in areas had the exact same finish. We had big gaps next to some of the wardrobes and instead of having the space wasted by boxing it in we cut down a couple of Ikea Billy Bookcases to create more storage space. We put coving around the top of the wardrobes to complete the built in look and then to finish we added some brass knobs and handles to the doors. I wanted a built-in closet that was simple, affordable, and functional. Ikea Cabinets and Semihandmade doors helped me create that!

I started with 2 IKEA Malm dressers that I assembled and screwed together back to back. I added 4” feet but decided to surround the bottom with a custom base instead. I drew a design on 1x6s and used my jigsaw to cut it out!

I added pole wrap to the sides to cover the seams and decorative trim to the drawer fronts for a fun detail before I added my fluted brass knobs.

Color: Yarn by magnolia in satin.

Tip: nice hardware always elevates a piece!

I decided to create a glass display case topper so I added 1x3s around the side (minus the top). I left 3/4” at the front on both sides to account for a drawer front.
