The greatest thing about dogs is the love and devotion they give to the ones they love...even if the ones they love are unlikely friends.

Have we got a treat for you, dear Pandas! Some friendships might seem unlikely, but in reality, move mountains and melt hearts. A few years ago we wrote about a beautiful, yet uncommon, the friendship between a shepherd dog Ingo and an owl Poldi and today we present even more feathered friends of the pup.

Througout the animal kingdom, friendships are made that, if you're like me, will fascinate you, read on to learn more about these interspecies friendships.

We all create bonds of mutual affection, and so do animals. Studies show that friendship is not an exclusively human characteristic, as animals are also capable of making friends. Sometimes their interactions are truly charming and they can even turn into unexpected companionships, like a dog and a fawn or a cat and some baby goats.

On the heartwarming scale this rates as a positive scorcher. A forlorn tigress, heartbroken because her own cubs have died, is fooled into adopting a litter of piglets when zoo officials in California wrap them in tiger skins. Unfortunately, there was a twist in the tiger's tale. Though the pictures have not been faked, an animal welfare pressure group investigated and discovered they were actually taken at a zoo in Thailand.
