Wheat Field With Cypresses by Vincent van Gogh

A Wheatfield with Cypresses (also known as “A Cornfield, with Cypresses” 1889. Van Gogh painted three versions of this theme. This one here is a smaller and less accomplished studio version he sent it to his mother and sister as a gift. The paintings were inspired by the view from the window at the asylum towards the Alpilles mountains.
