Only thing better than birthday cake is birthday cake with a dragon on it! Bottom two books were chocolate cake. Top book and top tier were vanilla cake. Dragon was sculpted from Rice Krispies Treats and covered with fondant, then painted. Chain and wings were made of gumpaste.

Made this for my son's birthday. He loves Wings of Fire books

DYI Wings of Fire Glory dragon cake, made from one bundt cake for body, rice krispie treats molded for the head, neck and tail. Overlaid with fondant. Wings and crest are dried fondant. Used varied sized circle cutters for imprinting scales on body. Painted by hand with food dye mixed with Vodka. "Dirt" that she is laying on is crushed oreo cookies. Used foam poster board as the base. Total hours building/decorating cake, as I am not a professional was around 4 hours.

My daughter loves the Wings of Fire book series. For her 8th birthday we got an ice cream cake at Baskin Robins customized with an image of Glory. She was so happy!
