Swedish 19th Century Painted Pine Trunk
A petite Swedish pine marriage trunk with its original paint. The exterior is painted blue with floral designs and monogrammed G E D 1835. Forged iron bindings enforce the construction of this hardwood trunk with large handles on each end. The top opens on its original hinges using the working lock and key. The interior is fitted with one candle box. Be sure to view the detailed images to see the current condition of this painted trunk.

19th Century Swedish Floral Painted Dome Top Wedding Trunk
Charming mid 19th century Swedish wedding trunk or dowry trunk featuring floral painted reserves over a blue background. This dome-top oak trunk is the largest we have ever come across at nearly 60 inches wide. The chest is constructed with 1 inch thick pieces of solid oak reinforced with iron strapping and hardware. The front is dated 1842 with initials O.F.L. The lock plate hardware and latch appear to be working. The chest is very heavy and strong with a lovely aged patina on the finish. Prov

We are is delighted to offer for sale this stunning, extra large circa 1802 dated aqua blue hand painted European clothes trunk or marriage coffer chest I have recently purchased a very large collection of these original, antique painted wardrobes and trunks, I have around 15 wardrobes and 20 trunks in total, each one totally different, this sale is for the piece listed above with all others being listed under my other items This one is an exceptionally good looking well made and collectable piece, the hand painted detailing is exquisite throughout, this one as mentioned is pretty much the largest of its type you will ever see, it has very rare aqua blue paint and would have belonged to a very wealthy family, it is dated to the front 1802 Condition wise this chest has all the original pain
