This beast of a 4x4 Westfalia Syncro has taken me to some great places and performed as expected for what is essentially a German camping tank. Between three owners. this Syncro has been in New Mexico for the past 20 years (give or take a trip or three to Mexico!). The original owner purchased this 4x4 camper in Vermont and subsequently moved to Santa Fe. the second owner was stationed at White Sands Missile Range here in New Mexico. When he was transferred to Europe. that's when I came in to the picture. The engine upgrade. which was professionally installed in 2001 by the second owner. is a typical Tiico conversion (South African 4 cyl Jetta engine). The engine has approximately 40. 00 miles on it (odometer was not functional when I bought it. and I never fixed it either). I am overestimating the mileage to be safe. The transmission was fully replaced at the time of the engine upgrade. The body has approximately 150. 00 miles. and is in good condition. No rust. dents. or big scratches…could use a new paint job though.

Since taking over ownership of the Syncro in 2008. I have invested in regular maintenance and the following upgrades (most of the service records and paperwork exist). This Westfalia also comes with a rear jump seat. long power cord. full privacy curtains and mosquito netting. plus a front bra.

New wiring harness. computer. head and head gaskets

New throttle body

New 2 inch lift with Go Westy spring package and Old Man Emu shocks

New 15 inch Mercedes Rim set (5) with BFG AT tires

Dual batteries

New canvas on pop-top

Heavy duty ladder

Work needed. if you choose:

AC is not hooked up (not a luxury we've needed) but all parts come with the sale. including a new-in-box compressor

Fridge is not working (very typical)

Odometer is not operational

No external radio antennae

Front speakers are not working and need replacing

Driver-side window slider lock above kitchenette needs to be installed (parts included in sale)

All in all a great vehicle with tons of potential just waiting for you to give it the customization and bit of TLC it deserves.  I'm getting rid of it due to financial need only. hate to see it go.
