Wishing You a Wonderful Mother's Day

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today is my day to post at Eyelet Outlet and Brads. Before I share my design team project,  I want to let you know that there is a Daily Deal where you can get a product each day at a discounted price. Be sure to check it out!

Here is my Design Team project...
I stamped the Inkadinkado flowers with VersaMark ink and then used white embossing powder before heating. I used four different Distress Inks (Seedless Preserves, Shaded Lilac, Picked Raspberry, and Spun Sugar) to blend the background. After adhering all the layers of card stock I added white ribbon and the clear flower gems.

A stamped sentiment on a flag banner is by Jaded Blossom ~ Mother's Day stamp set and and a few clear swirls were scattered around.
I used the following product from Eyelet Outlet and Brads shop.
Swirls Jewels Clear

Celebrate Mom at Miss Kate Cuttables

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by. I am on field trip today with our 5th grade class...we are in Orlando at Epcot. One of my favorite places! It is quite educational with all the different pavilions, the countries, and technology. The students should learn a lot while enjoying themselves! Today I also want to  share the new challenge at Miss Kate Cuttables...remember a free file everyday!

This Month's Challenge is...
Mom

Here is my Design Team project...
My mom passed away very unexpectedly just over 5 years ago, so my hubby's mom is all I have left. I made this special card for her! We gave it to her on Sunday and she loved it.

First, I cut the Fancy card base (SVG Cutting Files). Then, I used Tim Holtz distress inks and water color paper to create the background. I cut the Miss Kate Cuttables Mother's Day title with my Cameo.

The flower was outlined with turquoise Stickles.
Hope you will join us at Miss Kate Cuttables for "Mom. The other design team members did a marvelous job with this one. Be sure to check out ALL the variety!

Thanks for stopping by!

Die Cuttin' Diva's May Sketch ~ Mother's Day

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back on this super Saturday! It is quiet at my house today...my kids went to the Players to see some of their favorite golf stars and my hubby went to the FHS girl's softball game since the team made it to the State Finals. The dog and I are loving this time!

I practiced some more with my watercolors this morning after watching a few videos. This time I used watercolor paint, but I want to try the watercolor pencils too. I learned to get better brushes because mine kept losing the bristles. Yes...you get what you pay for!

An up-close view of the watercolor background. The flower vase was cut from Kate's ABCs on my Cricut Expression at 3 3/4". The sentiment is computer generated.

Another heat embossed background then painted over with watercolors.

This was an individual stamp that I used to create the background. The flowers are not very evenly spaced since I couldn't see the clear embossing ink, but I know I will get better the more I practice! Summer vacation is in a few weeks and I will have plenty of time then! : )
Other Materials:
pink purple, yellow, and white card stock
purple gems
purple pearls
Versafine Onyx Black ink
Martha Stewart pink flower

Die Cuttin' Diva's Sketch for May created by me. If you ever need a sketch for a your challenges, please let me know. I enjoy creating a variety of sketches that others will use.

There is still time to join our challenge at Die Cuttin' Diva, so get crafty and share!

It's a Mother's Day Weekend

Hello!
It is Mother's Day weekend...yes, Mother's Day should be ALL weekend not just one day! One day just is not enough with all we do throughout the year.

How about a little history about this important holiday...
Mother’s Day is a holiday honoring motherhood that is observed in different forms throughout the world. The American incarnation of Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official U.S. holiday in 1914. Jarvis would later denounce the holiday’s commercialization and spent the latter part of her life trying to remove it from the calendar. While dates and celebrations vary, Mother’s Day most commonly falls on the second Sunday in May.

Here are my Mother's Day cards I have made for a few special friends...
Heritage Cricut cartridge for title and Creative Cards for butterflies

Birthday Cakes Cricut cartridge

Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge only

Freshly Picked Cricut cartridge

Florals Embellished Cricut cartridge
I used my new Scrapbook Expo paper (only $2 per 6x6 stack) on all the cards. I sure do love to buy paper even though I know I do not need it. I seem to never finish a stack, but you can never have enough, right? I also added ribbon, buttons, my handmade stickpin, gems/pearls, flowers...lots of different embellishments to make each one slightly different.

The last two are personalized and I used Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge to cut the letters. I cut on the shadow feature at 1/2". One of my favorite carts still for simple fonts. Cuts nicely too!

Hope you enjoy the weekend. My hubby already asked my this morning what I want to do this weekend (yes, we celebrate all weekend...milk it while you can!). The only thing I said so far...go blueberry picking. Better go get ready!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Friday Crafty Friends,

Today begins a weekend of relaxation, shopping, and family time. We are going to the movies tomorrow to see Iron Man and then out to lunch (probably to the Olive Garden). Afterwards it is time for some craft shopping and then to the mall for some new sunglasses and Sperrys. We usually celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day on Saturday instead of Sunday, so it is less crowded.

Friday's also bring a new challenge at Little Scrap Pieces.
This Week's Challenge...Mother's Day

Here is my Design Team project...
I used two Spellbinders as the focal point.
I have been working on layering the Spellbinders.

sand dollar brads
brown pearls
tan and cream ribbon
Spellbinders ~ Fancy Tags and Labels Thirteen

Mother's Day Hop at Exploring Cricut

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today brings a new challenge at Exploring Cricut . We are also having a special Design Team hop to share our projects to help celebrate Mother's Day, which is this Sunday, May 12th..

The Challenge...Mother's Day
Since my mom passed away unexpectedly about a year and a half ago, I made this card for my mother-in-law. She reminds me of one of those perfect moms that you would find on a TV show from the 50's. I have always teased my husband and said that they were the Leave it to Beaver family growing up.

Here is my Exploring Cricut project...
 The sketch I used...
This flower is from Florals Embellished. There are many layers to use, but you can pick and choose which ones you want to add.
I used Plantin Schoolbook to cut out mom....
but on the Floral Embellished cartridge, there are LOTS of phrases for Mother's Day. Aren't they FABULOUS?!?!
Materials:
Momenta paper
kraft and tan card stock
Florals Embellished Cricut cartridge ~ flower17 (p. 37) cut at 3"
Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge ~ ovals, scallop, and mom.
brown pearls
brown ink

Other Challenges:

Exploring Cricut Design Team line-up:

The Prize...
Diane is giving away the Creative Cards Cricut cartridge to one randomly selected winner who enters the challenge.
Be sure to visit Rae Ann next and see her wonderful Mother's Day project.

Hope you will join the "Mother's Day" challenge at Exploring Cricut this week. Can't wait to see what you create.

Happy Mother's Day to You

Hello Crafty Friends,

I sure hope you are enjoying your day. Mine has been peaceful since I am allowed only to do mimimal work. My hubby took me to the craft stores this morning since my son gave me a Joanns gift card, which was completely unexpected. I was extremely surprised and that doesn't happen often.  I wanted to purchase a new Spellbinder since I have seen so many projects using them (and I have become fascinated with them too!). The store we went to didn't have the one I wanted, so I will check another location tomorrow. We were going to go to the Olive Garden for lunch, but I said I wanted to wait until tomorrow since my son had to work today.  Instead of one day...I will get two days of spoiled motherly fun. : )

Since my Mom past away 1 1/2 year ago (many of my close crafty friends may remember it was very unexpected ~ she was only 54), I wasn't able to make her a card. My grandmother whom I was very close with past away just over 10 years ago; therefore, I bring live flowers to her grave.

I have definitely enjoyed making Mother's Day cards for others though.

Here is a card I made for the school's secretary's sister. She requested flowers and the sentiment.
Kate's ABCs ~ flower vase (p. 54) cut at 3 1/4"

Enjoy the time you have with your family.

Happy Mother's Day,

Two More Mother's Day Cards

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends,

I am home from school and it is finally raining outside, so what better place to be than inside surrounded by crafting goodies (and with my pup at my feet). I just finished my order late last night for Mother's Day cards, so I would like to share a couple of them.

Since it was late, I forgot to take individual pictures of these cards. Bummer! I am glad I remembered to take this group shot! The one on the left required cardinals, flowers, and "For Mama". After I gave it to the person who ordered it, I found out her mother's favorite color was green. : ) I used this week's CPS sketch. The card on the right was for her best friend and the only requirement was flowers. I used the Florals Embellished cartridge to create the one main flower as a focal point.

Other materials:
Winter Woodland cartridge ~ cardinal
Flower Shoppe cartridge
Bo Bunny (left) and K&Company (right) paper
red, cream, black and blue cardstock
black brads
black button
cream craft thread
red crinkle ribbon
blue and green ribbon (I adhered the two pieces to make one layered piece.)
blue gems

Challenges:

What's Next...
Now I have a few more graduation cards I need to create. The UF card was a hit! I have to create a couple more college cards using their school colors, 2 - 3  high school cards, and a possible kindergarten card. I better go get busy!

What are your plans? What are you going to make this week? Do you have any request?

Stay Creative,
Georgiana
