School is Cool at Miss Kate Cuttables

Hello Everyone,

I am preparing this post ahead of time just in case the power goes out with Hurricane Irma. As of right now, my daughter, my dog, and I are doing well. It is raining and getting windy, but we are safe with electricity. Hopefully everything will continue to be good.

The new challenge at Miss Kate Cuttables starts tonight, and remember there is a free file every week! Hopefully you will be able to join us during the next two weeks with your own creation.

This Month's Challenge...
~ Back to School~

Here is my Design Team project...
I had another student send me a message on our hurricane day off that he was using the Achieve3000 computer program and he was Florida and Worldwide Leader.  I am so excited that I have students that care about their learning. Our school district issued a no homework policy for all elementary students this year, so any work the students do at home has to be optional or incomplete work they didn't finish in class. Makes me happy that some are going above and beyond! Those students will definitely make great gains.

The happy book file is by Miss Kate Cuttables. The stamped sentiment is by Pink by Design and the Lori Whitlock box was cut with my Cameo.
Hope you will join us at Miss Kate Cuttables for the "Back to School" challenge. The other design team members are ready to support students, teachers, paraprofessionals, and even the bus drivers this school year. Be sure to check out ALL the variety!

Stay Creative,
Georgiana

Two New Books for This Teacher

What a wonderful Christmas we had today. The kids are extremely happy with their gifts, the hubby got just what he wanted, and me...I love everything I received. My husband went overboard and got me all the crafting goodies I could have asked for.  : ) I got some new Cricut cartridges (Nifty Fifties, Birthday Bash, and Wrap-it Up), a bunch of embossing folders, buttons, crafting thread, and paper with matching embellishments.

I also received two new crafting books (one I picked out and the other was a surprise). I was reading them this evening and I thought I would share a piece from  The Cardmaker's Workbook p.19.

An interesting tidbit I want to remember as the new year approaches...

Top 15 People to Send Cards To...
1. Your parents
2. Your children
3. Your wealthy spinster aunt and her seven cats
4.Your best friend
5. Your nieces and nephews in college
6. Your future in-laws
7. Your grandparents
8. Your grandchildren
9. Your paperboy
10. Your babysitter
11. Your neighbor's gorgeous pool boy
12. Your favorite barista
13. Your priest, rabbi, or spiritual mentor
14. Ben & Jerry's
15. There wasn't one! I think it was an error in printing. My thought...anyone else you want!

My goal for the new year is to send handmade cards to more family, friends, and co-workers. I definitely do not have a wealthy spinster aunt with seven cats, but I sure can use this list for many others. I am hoping to share my love of cardmaking with others.

Be sure to come back again for another tidbit from one of these books. There is so much useful information I just have to share...It is that teacher in me!

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
