Cossack Army build - update...

The last unit of registered cossacks is currently being painted; while doing this I've been finishing off prepping the remaining cossack figures I cast last year.

The last two lots of cossack 'moloitsy' done..

The project cossack army will be

4 command stands (finished)

4 units of mounted cossacks ( 3 prepped, 1 to cast)

4 units registered cossacks (3 finished, 1 being painted)

4 units of moloitsy (all 4 prepped)

1 unit of peasant mob (finished)

2 light artillery guns with crew (finished) 

6 'war wagons' plus other wagons  (finished) 

When the weather gets a bit better I'll cast the fourth mounted cossack unit. 

Another Unit of Registered Cossacks

 A unit or mob of cossack 'peasants'; or more correctly mostly untrained cossacks,  some with sword and others with a selection of farm implements and a couple of old pole-arms. (farm implements from Bicorne ECW range).

Cossack Army build - casting complete...

All the casting for the Cossack army is now done (plus a few sundry spares)....

Used the game table to sort the castings into infantry and cavalry units ...

 A tick sheet spreadsheet has been created to record progress for all the planned units ..

I have a few things completed already plus some stuff to paint; a lot of castings need to be produced to provide all the figures I need. Today I got off to a good start, spending time at the casting table in the garage. I have plenty of metal (donated old figures and leftover pouring reservoirs).

Three moulds on the go today to cast cossack infantry figures... 

managed to get about 90 figures cast today, still lots to do....

 Horse teams for six war wagons cast and prepped ready for painting...

Cossack Peasant Mob... (WIP)

Armed with mostly farm implements (from Bicorne Miniatures) and a few swords; figures are mostly my home-casts and a few Irregular Miniatures ....

I've also cast a rider to check for fit on my draft horses; plus how they work with the wagons I've made.

I've finished building the extra wagons and used up my supply of lego wheels..

ALl finished and ready for painting. There are 9 of these higher sided ones, some with cannon for 'war wagons'

With 4 of these for general transport

Enough wagons to represent part of a wagon tabor/camp to be defended as part of a game scenario...or for a 'on the move' game...

Cossack wagons (again)....

The last time I did anything with these was Nov'24; trying to clear up paused (if somewhat forgotten projects) I thought I better get on and finish building them.

I thought it a good idea to scan my detailed (?) design notes, so I could possibly re-create more at a later date....

Constucting three more (cardboard, hibachi skewers and Lego wheels)

I have enough wheels for 4 more wagons, I'll use them up. Better more than less 😀

Cossack War Wagons (WIP)

Finished building 6 cossack war wagons for my 40mm collection (made from cardboard, hibachi skewers and Lego wheels). Finished off with mounts for swivel guns made out of plasticard. 

I have enough Lego wheels
