Abstract This talk will be a brief exploration of what open source is, why has it gained such phenomenal success in the last decade and what does this mean for open source? Why do both the private and public sector turn to it in our digitalised environments? In a world of AI, geopolitics and Sovereignty what are the challenges and where does open source fit?
