Impact of Higgs-Boson measurements on SMEFT Fits
/ De Blas Mateo, Jorge (Universidad de Granada (ES)) ; Goncalves, Angelica (Florida State University (USA)) ; Miralles, Victor (University of Manchester (UK)) ; Reina, Laura (Florida State University (USA)) ; Silvestrini, Luca (Sapienza Universita e INFN, Roma I (IT)) ; Valli, Mauro (Sapienza Universita and INFN, Roma I (IT))
We present current bounds on SMEFT operators that are mainly constrained by Higgs-boson observables, under different assumptions for the flavour structure of the UV theory. We investigate how the accuracy reached through a dedicated Higgs-boson precision physics program is starting to have a major impact in setting a lower bound on the scale of new physics, and we discuss the relevance of considering the scale evolution of the SMEFT coefficients in this context. Precision studies of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix offer a very important testbed of the Standard Model (SM).In light of new inputs and measurements, in this proceeding we review the status of the Unitarity Triangle as a fundamental tool to uncover New Physics. We report the results of the latest SM global fits performed by the UTfit Collaboration including all the up-to-date experimental and theoretical inputs as for the Summer 2023 release. We also update the stringent constraints on New Physics from the generalized $|\Delta F| = 2$ effective Hamiltonian. / Greljo, Admir (Universitaet Bern (CH)) ; Dawson, Sally (Department of Physics, Brookhaven National Laboratory (US)) ; Lohwasser, Kristin (University of Sheffield (GB)) ; Aebischer, Jason (Universität Zürich (CH)) ; Das Bakshi, Supratim (Universidad de Granada (ES)) ; Carmona, Adrían (Universidad de Granada (ES)) ; Chakrabortty, Joydeep (Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IN)) ; Cohen, Timothy (University of Oregon (US)) ; Criado, Juan Carlos (Durham University (UK)) ; Fuentes-Martín, Javier (Universidad de Granada (ES)) et al.
This note gives an overview of the tools for the precision matching of ultraviolet theories to the Standard Model effective field theory (SMEFT) at the tree level and one loop. Several semi- and fully automated codes are presented, as well as some supplementary codes for the basis conversion and the subsequent running and matching at low energies. [...]
