Who should complete this questionnaire?
- The Household Reference Person (HRP). Usual Household Members under 16 years of age must have their questionnaire completed by the HRP or an adult.
- Usual Household Members 16 years and older (or the HRP on their behalf) must complete the Population Section of the questionnaire.
Why do you need all this personal information?
The census collects detailed economic, cultural and social information on everyone living in Bermuda. This information is used by the Government, businesses and others to make many important decisions affecting our daily life, such as where we need homes for senior citizens, fire, police and emergency services and new types of social services. All information collected is protected under the Statistics Act 2002 and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) 2016.

A household is a person or group of persons living together in a dwelling unit. - Household Reference Person
The Household Reference Person is the person who lives at this address and:
- owns / rents the accommodation; and / or
- is responsible for the household's affairs such as paying the household's bills.
Note: In households where all usual household members are unrelated and are house/roommates, one of the usual household members must identify himself/herself as the Household Reference Person. He/she must complete the Household Listing Section, the Housing Section and ensure the Population Sections are completed for each usual household member. The Population Sections for each usual household member may be completed by the Household Reference Person or separately by requesting a private Population Questionnaire.
- Usual Household Member
A person who has resided, or is expected to reside, in a household for 6 months or more. Be sure to include the following as a usual household member: babies and other persons who are temporarily in the hospital, overseas for vacation, studying or other purposes.
