Ben Nevis is the highest peak in the British, with an elevation of 1,345 meters. It is located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Highland region of Lochaber. The summit of Ben Nevis is the collapsed dome of an ancient volcano, snow-covered year-round. There are remains of an observatory that operated from 1883 to 1904, collecting valuable meteorological data and adding a cultural and historical allure to the mountain's natural beauty.
