Our lovely co-owner , Leslie, has organised for the CQI group to make blocks up for a wallhanging, that will be donated to a Children's Cancer Treatment Centre. These are just a sample of the blocks created, and donated so far. Leslie has extended an open invitation to the online CQ community to contribute to this project. Under The Sea themed blocks are alot of fun, and as you can see, the ideas are endless. You can read more about this project via Leslie's blog.

Erub (Darnley) Island, is one Australia’s most remote places, located in the Torres Strait Islands. Artists from Erub Arts Collaborative have worked with ghost nets (abandoned fishing nets) to create a massive installation of an underwater world including vivid coral and magnificent sculptural fish, turtles, sharks and jellyfish. Ghost Nets of the Ocean shares the artists’ concerns for the loss of marine life and environmental damage caused by rogue nets.

I quilted the Landscape quilt today...so satisfying! Free motion on the mountains, lines in the sky and if you look closely, a zig zag that undulates in the grass. I used the buttons on my machine while stitching the wavy zig zag lines to vary width of the zigs and zags. Cool. All I need to do now is border it with a black wide mitered edge.
