This resource is designed to help students engage in learning about the Earth's spheres and systems. Through the use of hands-on activities, students will explore the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere. They will also learn about the interactions between these spheres and how they impact the Earth as a whole. The Earth as a System? Studying the planet as a whole is complicated. To do this, it is divided into 4 spheres: Hydrosphere, Geosphere, Biosphere and Atmosphere.

This activity was developed to give participants an understanding of Earth’s four spheres and how they are connected. This website, presented by NASA’s Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission, provides students and educators with resources to learn about Earth’s water cycle, weather and climate, and the technology and societal applications of studying them.
