Couldn't figure out what to put in the glass display case at first. Then my mom was volunteering in the library one day (adorable, right?) and she suggested back to school stuff and next thing you know the idea of the traditional "little red school house" popped up, which seemed perfect. Create an interactive experience with your bulletin boards to encourage students to practice new skills and stay fully involved in their education.

I love encouraging my students to explore a variety of genres, but sometimes that means I need to explicitly teach them about the genres first! These free genre posters are the perfect way to do just that!

This is my classroom's "What are you reading" board. Students will use sticky notes to write the title, author, and genre of the book they're reading. They will use dry erase markers each day to update the page they're on and their rating out of 5 stars. This will let me see how much kids are reading, and give students a place to refer when looking for new book recommendations. #teachersfollowteachers #iteachfifth
