a quilted blanket is hanging on a fence

It's the best game you can name, according to a Canadian cultural icon! And a certain 11 year old boy agrees wholeheartedly! I will freely admit that this isn't a new finish. It's one of my Library Project quilts from 2014. It was gifted to a special (not so) little (anymore) hockey fan for Christmas, but I was missing a few pics to share. Until now! This quilt made it to a few fun locations for some pics... like a local rink where it's owner plays regularly and Halifax's ScotiaBank Centre…

This is Jackie’s Hockey Skate quilt that she made for one of her grandchildren. She designed the quilt herself and created the skate appliqué pattern from a picture. The skates are all hand appliquéd and she even tied the laces with a knot. It was hard to get a picture of the fabric she used for the blade but it is a silver metallic fabric that works perfectly. a red and black blanket laying on top of green grass next to two toothbrushes

When my next door neighbors, who happen to be as big of Chicago Blackhawks fans as us, told us that they were expecting I had a feeling I would be creating a hockey quilt for them. As the 9 months have passed, I decided I want to go one step further and create a Chicago Blackhawks themed quilt for their future bundle of joy. I think this quilt may have been the most fun to create since I created my own pattern. I began by sketching a design that I wanted. I pieced the top and then created my…
