chat.cx · AI Chat Workspace

Every AI chat, one panel away.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and your own API keys, side by side in your browser. Nothing new to sign up for.

Stop juggling AI tabs.

A tab for every chatbot. The answer you needed, buried behind whatever you opened next.

chat.cx keeps every conversation one click apart: loaded, signed in, and exactly where you left it, in a panel beside the page you're reading.

Not a wrapper. Not a reseller.

chat.cx embeds the real sites: chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com, nearly 30 in all, in a panel you can open anywhere in the browser. You sign in with your own accounts, exactly as you would in a normal tab.

The usual wrapper apps

  • A lookalike UI over an API
  • Another monthly subscription
  • Your chats on someone's server
  • A new account and login

chat.cx

  • The real sites, embedded
  • Your accounts and existing plans
  • Everything stays in your browser
  • No account with us, nothing collected

Your accounts and plans

Sign in to each site once. Your history, your models, your Plus and Pro subscriptions all carry over, because it is the same site.

The real sites, embedded

Not a lookalike UI over an API. When a provider ships a feature, you have it the same day.

Direct to each provider

Your traffic goes straight to each AI site, with no chat.cx servers in the path. We hold nothing of yours, so nothing of yours can leak.

The catalog

29 chatbots out of the box. Plus any API you bring.

The full catalog, always growing. Search it from the panel's new-tab picker and pin your favorites to Home. Open the same service more than once to compare prompts or keep a long answer visible while you work.

Multi-tab

Real tabs, like a browser

Open as many chats as you need, the same chatbot twice included. Background tabs stay loaded: switching is instant, nothing reloads, and an answer keeps streaming while you read another. Ask two models the same question and compare.

Side panel, popup, full page

Side panel, toolbar popup, full-page tab, new window, or a standalone app window. Five surfaces, the same tabs in all of them. The toolbar icon opens whichever you prefer, and the Alt+S shortcut follows that choice.

Tabs that hold their place

Chatbots open as tabs that keep their state while you switch. Restore Last Page reopens the exact conversation you left, not the site's home. Open a service twice to compare prompts, or keep a long answer visible while you work elsewhere.

The launcher tab

A pull-tab docked to the edge of web pages. Hover it to see your open chats and jump straight into one. Drag it to any edge, hide it per site, or turn it off entirely.

Every tab under control

Reload, back and forward, zoom, copy link, open in a normal tab or a new window. Hard Reload re-syncs a login into the panel when a site shows you signed out there but not in a normal tab.

Split screen

Open any chat beside the page you are on, chat left or chat right. Read and reply without leaving either.

Make it yours

Pin your go-to services to the Home page, search the whole catalog from the new-tab picker, and reorder tabs as you like. Dock the tab strip to any edge, collapse it when you want the room, and pick light, dark, or system theme.

Page context

Ask about the page you're on

Send the page into any chat, embedded or native: its readable text, just your selection, or a screenshot of the visible page or a dragged area. Or right-click and Ask AI to open a fresh chat with the content already inserted.

If a site's chat cannot accept an automatic insert, chat.cx keeps the captured context so you can paste it yourself instead of losing it.

Bring your own keys.

The embedded sites cover the big names. For everything else there are native chats: point chat.cx at any endpoint that speaks the OpenAI Chat Completions API and talk to it straight from the browser, no proxy in between.

  • Any OpenAI-compatible endpoint

OpenAI, OpenRouter, Groq, Azure, xAI, a local Ollama or LM Studio. Configure base URL, key, model, system prompt, sampling, headers, and streaming per API, with a built-in connection test.

  • Every chat, its own setup

Browse the endpoint's model list or type any model id. Each chat can switch models independently and override its API's system prompt and sampling from a gear in the composer.

  • A real chat client

Threads with search and a temporary mode, markdown with highlighted code and math, a live reasoning view, voice in and out, attachments, and per-message timing and token stats.

  • Tools that respect your setup

Keyless web search parsed locally in your browser, web fetch, and image generation behind a cost confirmation. One set of switches covers every chat.

How it works

  1. Pick the AI sites you use, or add an OpenAI-compatible API.

  2. Open them as tabs in the chat.cx workspace.

  3. Keep working on the web, then send a selection, page, or screenshot to the AI chat that can help.

Nothing between you and your AI.

chat.cx is a front door, not a middleman. It has no servers of its own. Everything happens in your browser.

No account

There is no chat.cx login, onboarding, or paywall. Install it and start.

No relay

Chats go directly from your browser to each provider. Nothing passes through us, because there is no "us" to pass through.

Keys stay local

API keys are stored on your device only, never synced to any cloud, including your browser's.

Your sessions

Embedded sites run on your own logins and cookies, same as opening them in a tab.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a new account for chat.cx?
No separate chat.cx account is required to use supported AI-service tabs. Sign in to each service with the account you already use. Native API chats need an API key only when the endpoint requires one.
Does chat.cx replace my ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini subscription?
No. chat.cx is the workspace around those services. Your access level and service-specific features continue to depend on your own account and plan with each provider.
How is this different from just opening tabs?
The panel sits next to whatever you're doing instead of replacing it, and keeps all your chatbots loaded one click apart, so an answer keeps streaming while you read another. Each chat reopens on the conversation you left, and the panel is reachable from any page via the edge launcher or a keyboard shortcut.
Where do my API keys and chats live?
On your device. Keys and native-chat history are stored in the extension's local storage and are never synced or sent anywhere except directly to the API endpoint you configured.
Can I use a local model?
Yes. Add a local endpoint such as Ollama or LM Studio if it exposes an OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions API. A local endpoint can be configured without an API key.
What happens if a service needs a normal browser tab to sign in?
Some sign-in and SSO flows do not work inside an embedded workspace. chat.cx detects common cases, explains what happened, and lets you open the service in a regular browser tab to sign in before returning to the workspace.
What does "chat.cx" mean?
"chat" plus "cx", short for Chrome eXtension: AI chat, living in a browser extension, at the domain of the same name.
Which browsers does chat.cx support?
chat.cx supports Chromium-based browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium browsers such as Brave. Firefox is not supported yet.
Is chat.cx affiliated with the AI services listed above?
No. chat.cx is an independent browser workspace. Third-party names are used only to describe services that users can choose to open with their own accounts.

All your AI chats in one place.

Works in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium browsers such as Brave.

No account with us. No proxy servers. Nothing collected.
