An AI conversation is a complete interaction between a customer and your AI assistant, from first message to resolution. Conversations are counted as completed interactions, not individual messages, and each one is counted once, when it ends. Only conversations where the AI actually replies count toward your usage. System messages and welcome messages do not.

No. Human conversations are unlimited on every plan, including Free. Only conversations where Chatty AI replies count toward your monthly allowance, so a chat your team picks up and answers manually never uses an AI conversation.

On Basic, Pro and Plus, extra AI conversations are billed at $0.40 each on the same 30-day cycle as your plan, and you can set a spending limit in the app so the cost never runs past your budget. The Free plan does not bill for extras: it stops at 50 AI conversations a month and your team can keep replying manually. If you go over every month, moving up a plan is usually cheaper than paying per conversation, and the calculator on this page works out exactly where that switch happens for your volume.
