I decided to put my image from Twisted Papers  into a film die.  I placed it on a background of black and white designer paper.   The images reflects the sentiment "Best Friends".  The card could be used for any occasion.

Here is another lovely vintage child image from Twisted Papers.  I cut an oval out of some card stock and though it doesn't show quite as well in the scan as in real life, the paper behind the oval is a cloudy sky with balloons floating upwards.  I thought that was the perfect image since she seems to be gazing up at something wonderful.  The quote is a vellum sticker from my stash, a great match for this card.  And I just love the "raindrop" "beads" which I thought fit this quite well. I hope you'll join this challenge.

 I've made an ATC for this weeks reminder post using a great row of vintage kids from isa's Altered Art and various embellishments!

I chose the option of making this image into a sepia toned image, instead of the colored image from McMahon Five Designs.  Trimmed and matted onto a brown card stock that had been stamped with Staz-On Timer ink and using a Rogue Redhead Designs background stamp.  I used the same ink and stamp right onto the card base to draw it all together.

This week I managed to get a card done for the challenge, the images from Twisted Papers are so cute and I chose this vintage girl with a rope of flowers. I won a Hero Arts paper pad called Kissing Booth and a thought this paper was vintage looking and just blended in with the picture. The label I used is Decorative labels 8.

This little girl from Twisted Papers seems to enjoy herself! She is just ever so sweet. I combined the image with pattered papers and added a doily, lace, fabric flower and a little bling to the card.

Challenge #66 -"Vintage Children"

I have another challenge I think everyone will enjoy entering.  The theme this time is "Vintage Children".  You may enter any type of project as long as there is a vintage-looking child on it.  If you need an image, you can find many to choose from on the website of my sponsor Twisted Papers.  Maybe the Design Team below will give you some ideas.

My card has a dark brown base with a piece of text as the first mat and then a designer print cardstock on top of that.  As an added embellishment, I put a little lace on the bottom and a sentiment.  My image is from Twisted Papers, my sponsor.

This sweet little girl jumping rope is from our sponsor Twisted Papers.  I decided to go with a Gothic arch for my DT piece so as to make it seem as if she is happily playing in her own garden arbor. I used flowery designer papers to enhance the garden feel and then lots of other sweet little elements like lace and the creatures that also live in the garden.

I really like the coloured vintage images to make a quick card. All it needs is picking the right colours to compliment your picture. My base card was inked to tone in with the rest. Hope you'll join us with your vintage children creations!

How adorable are those images from Twisted Papers? I just fell in love with this little girl and its wonderful cap. I layered it on gingham and patterned paper and embellished the little card with doily, ribbon, lace and little butterflies.

Current Challenge

My current theme is "You Make A Lovely Couple"  I  haven't had very many entries for the challenge yet.  I know if you look through your stash, you will find an image or stamp of a man and woman or a girl and boy.  If not, don't forget you can use two different images to make up your couple.  Twisted Papers is offering a great prize, so go through your stash and create something for the challenge.

My Twisted Papers image has been distress a little and I placed it on a piece of embossed designer paper.  On top of that is some netting that came with a ham.  At the bottom is a scrap burlap ribbon.  As additional embellishment I placed two button and an sentiment that was left over from a package of sentiments.

This week I've chosen to make a tag with one of the lovely couple images from our challenge sponsor Twisted Papers.  This couple has such a friendly, easy-going way about them and such a natural feel so I chose nature themed designer papers and embellishments.  I also included a sticker along the side, "the greatest of these is love."  Enjoy!

Week two of this great challenge and I chose to use this sweet image, courtesy of our sponsor Twisted Paper, to make an anniversary tag. I did a background paper from Scrap in a Snap, added lace trims, paper flowers, pearls and ribbon.  I distressed the edges with TH Distressed ink: Vintage Photo.

I've used an image from our sponsor for this challenge to make my card along with papers from Gecko Galz. Vintage lace and gemstone plus a little gold "Best Wishes" tag finish it all off! This could be an engagement or wedding card!

I chose this image from Twisted Papers, they have a lot of great vintage pictures. I saw a program on PBS last Sunday (not much on TV) it was about the pictures the men carried when the went to war during the Civil War, the article said they were 4 X 5 inches (I think that is the size, I was listening with only one ear) and they quite often had embossed gold frames and were carried in tins to protect them. This was my inspiration for my "photo" I embossed a piece of gold gift bag (limited supplies) with an Asian folder cut the oval and arranged in on top of the picture with a border of early expresso card stock.

Another wonderful inspiring image from Twisted Papers - Sisters. I layered the image on patterend paper which I stitched around the edges, The sentiment (von Herzen - from the heart) is heat-embossed and covered with Stickles. The finishing touches are silk binding, some pins and a vintage button.

I tried to create a sense of age, of days gone by with my very simple card.  The background is direct to paper with a copper stamp pad and some extra inking with a brush. I distressed the edges of the 'old photo' & layer with a scissors and brown pastel. It will make a fun anniversary or wedding card, I think...

Challenge #64-"You Make a Lovely Couple"

I hope you enjoyed my last challenge "From the Past".  Now we are going with projects that have a couple on it.  A couple is determined by a man and a woman or a boy and girl.  You may do either.  The Design Team is looking forward to seeing what you create with this theme.  Here are some creations to inspire you from the Design Team.

I distressed my mat of designer paper and then placed my beautiful digital of a vintage couple from Twisted Papers.

Twisted Paper is our sponsor for this challenge and I chose a framed photo of this couple for my card. It was trimmed and mounted on designer paper then onto a card that had been covered with tissue paper and aged with distressed inks.  The sentiment is from Reflections, stamped and embossed with gold. The flowers were made with the same mounting paper.

This happy couple at the beach, a vintage image provided by our challenge sponsor Twisted Papers, inspired me to create a honeymoon postcard.  In addition to the main image I've collaged various papers, bits of map and travel and beach themed embellishments to invoke that "wish you were here" feeling.  This is a lovely challenge to celebrate love and happiness; hope you'll decide to join!

They are so lovely together, a romantic and sweet image from our sponsor Twisted Paper. On the inked background I use GrungePaste and layered it with painted calico. The punched f

lowers and one sentiment layer is made from left-over cardboard, the sentiment stamped on inked watercolour paper.

When I saw the images offered by the sponsor I knew I wanted to make it into an ATC card these are 2 1/2 X 3 1/3 inches and so cute. I cut the rectan to gle opening in Close to Cocoa and embossed it with a woodgrain embossing folder. the early expresso opening was also done with a smaller rectangle die. The embellishents are made with the end of the fancy labels I spellbinder die and trimmed.

Just Another Post

Here is a card that I have never posted and another tag.   The card uses the Millieflori technique for the background.  The image is from Twisted Papers.

The tag uses a image from a Gecko Galz.  The greeting is made with two word beads.  The background color was done with chalk.  The scroll is made with rhinestones.

Black and Orange - Halloween

Here is a tag I made for  the Black and Orange Challenge at Kard Krazy's Tag Tuesday.  I went with the Halloween theme.  I am also taking part in Drunken Stampers  challenge on Halloween.

This tag is also in the shape of an Arch.  Gingersnap Creations is having an arch challenge.  Simon Says Stamp and Show is having a spooky challenge.  Having a spooky pumpkin on a shelf makes me have chills.
