Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde im Zuge der 700-Jahr-Feier am 12. August 1953 vom Böblinger Stadtrat zuletzt genehmigt. Es ist auf das mittelalterliche Vorbild ausgerichtet. Das Wappen ist abgeleitet vom ältesten Stadtsiegel aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Es weißt auf die frühere Herrschaft der Pfalzgrafen von Tübingen hin.
English: The arms are last granted on August 12, 1953. They are derived from a seal of the 13th century. The arms remains on the former rulers, the Counts of Tübingen.
