[edit]Copyright status: File:Ro-Silvian Vâlcu tts f-m.ogg
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Ro-Silvian Vâlcu tts f-m.ogg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Thanks for uploading File:IoanaOltes.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:IoanaOltes.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

- @Regasterios: The originating youtube video has "Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)". This license isn't acceptable anymore (if it ever was)? Same for all the other ones. Sorry for being so late, I didn't check my notifications for a while, it was quite a surprise. Thank you. - Coagulans (talk) 17:26, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Coagulans: if is Cristi Enache the copyright holder of this video? I can't decide it. --Regasterios (talk) 17:43, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Regasterios: Cristi Enache, cinematographer, seems to be connected to the copyright holder, Total Image Solution. It's unlikely for him/ them to bother sending OTRS. But it's a screenshot from a freely licensed video, supposedly in accordance with the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. Most of my uploads are based on this presumption. - Coagulans (talk) 21:55, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- I ask @Pafsanias's opinion. --Regasterios (talk) 11:19, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Regasterios: Thank you for pinging me, otherwise I wouldn’t have noticed this interesting discussion. Please allow me to give a full answer later during this evening, since it may imply other cases too, that need further clarification. --Pafsanias (talk) 12:13, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- I apologize for the delay taken in answering, but I had to refresh some information concerning a file that has been deleted more than two months ago and, unfortunately, I have no longer access to some of the data specified in its previous description.
- I cannot confirm that Cristi Enache is the copyright holder for the aforementioned YouTube video produced by Total Image Solution. But if he really is, why shouldn’t they bother sending the permission to OTRS? As a matter of fact, in case of reasonable doubt, I think that such permission should be asked and obtained in advance, before uploading any part of the copyrighted work in question. I don’t remember whether the deleted file was in use at that moment, but even if it wasn’t, appropriate attention must be paid to those sensitive details.
- Too many users of YouTube claim to be the legal holders of the copyright for the content they publish “freely”, without any credible proof. Two other examples are discussed below. Do you believe that Ensar Duman Clinic, based in Turkey, could be the legal copyright owner for the Romanian television program “La maruta” produced by PROTV in which Nioleta Nuca appears? Do you believe that Meetic.fr could be the legal copyright owner for the French television program “Des soucis et des Hommes” produced by France 2 in which Thomas Jouannet appears (baring the mark © Bridges – février 2012 at the end of the video)? It may be so, but this is not obvious at all. That is why we asked for a written permission, which is sometimes necessary even if the uploader is the author of the uploaded file. --Pafsanias (talk) 18:16, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

@Regasterios: , @Pafsanias: Connection ("ADDITIONAL CONTACT INFO" : the copyright holder's email address local-part matches the name of the video's publisher). - Coagulans (talk) 07:30, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- I’m afraid that the email address cannot prove that he is the copyright holder, but it might be used in order to obtain a written statement acceptable for the OTRS. In fact, this is exactly what you were expected to do from the very beginning. --Pafsanias (talk) 12:00, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- Written statement for a screenshot from a freely licensed video. I wonder why. Because Pafsanias is "afraid"? Cristi Enache is in the video industry, he is expected to have some acquaintance with the subject. Why would he mislicense this vid? - Coagulans (talk) 16:50, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- I have been asked to give my opinion and I expressed my concerns. It is not up to me to decide what way should you follow. Please feel free to do whatever you think it could help you with your screenshot. I have nothing else to add to this discussion. --Pafsanias (talk) 17:34, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.
Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions.Yours sincerely, - FitIndia Talk ✉ 08:37, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
File source is not properly indicated: File:Maria Ciobanu.jpg
[edit]This media was probably deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Maria Ciobanu.jpg, was missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. The file probably has been deleted. If you've got all required information, request undeletion providing this information and the link to the concerned file (
[[:File:Maria Ciobanu.jpg]] ).
If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

Kazan "improved" picture was too much bright, also you should make different upload and not to cover this phot, since i dont find it improved. Its too much exposured and a bit too much saturated. I think half of exposure you add should help and just a little Vibrance added. --Mile (talk) 14:02, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
