| About Miguel Espejo : Miguel Espejo is a Colombian multidisciplinary designer whose work bridges design, photography, tattoo art, and the exploration of functional forms through self-initiated design pieces. With a background in visual communication and years of creative exploration, his practice focuses on the relationship between form, symbolism, and identity. Espejo’s approach integrates artistic intention with functional clarity, often exploring modularity and organic structures. His body of work has evolved through independent projects and personal research, serving as part of a larger search to reveal the patterns behind perception, using mathematics as a key to understand the nature of things. For me, design is a form of active meditation. It’s the moment when logic meets intuition, and form becomes a bridge between function and meaning. Design is not just about solving problems; it's about revealing the invisible, organizing chaos, and giving structure to the intangible. My view on design is deeply rooted in movement. In my life, the body has always been a tool for exploration—on a skateboard, on wheels, or in the ocean—and I bring that same kinetic energy into the creative process. I believe good design should have rhythm, fluidity, and balance. Just like a wave finds its perfect form before breaking, a design piece finds its impact when all elements flow in harmony. Art, on the other hand, is the space where I allow myself to break the rules of design. If design builds bridges, art opens portals. That’s where the exploration of digital roots and the number 9 emerges—what cannot be seen, but is deeply felt. It’s a quest for language, for origin, for universal symbols that connect people to something greater. I care as much about symbolism as I do about functionality. That’s why my creative approach always seeks the sweet spot between aesthetic and strategic, emotional and effective. I don’t see design as something decorative or superficial. I believe in design that transforms realities, tells stories, and resonates. Years of experience in visual communication and multidisciplinary design have taught me that a piece only comes alive when it has a real purpose and an honest foundation. Whether I'm designing a product, capturing a moment through photography, or conceptualizing a brand, I always return to the same question: What energy do I want to transmit with this? To design is to choose with intention. It’s a commitment to clarity without giving up emotion. It’s about weaving identity, projecting vision, and at the end of the day, leaving a mark that inspires.
