For our Daughter at Christmas

Well it’s Christmas eve and I still have some cards to share with you EEEEeeekkkkkk best get cracking

So straight into it this is one I have made for Amy I have used papers from Polkadoodles (well they are the best) I have heavily distressed the edges it’s been my ‘thing’ this year lol

The image is called Neve from Make it crafty and I have coloured her with a mix of prisma luminance and polychromo pencils

To embellish the card I took some dark silver/grey ribbon and threaded through a large teal bell they’re actually tree or gift decorations but why waste them on those things lol. Then I added 3 glittered/gold large berry top pins.

The inside is done in my usual fashion but I decided as the verse was quite long (and very meaningful) I would leave the image out.
So there you have it hope you like it and I will see you later with another card oh and a very Merry Christmas to you all

Mr Frosty Face

Core blimey is freezing brass monkeys here, Hello my dearies I do hope you’re all well keeping warm and are not to snowed in (it has gone from here mostly now but some of the roads are still very slippery)
Now then I have some exciting news last week I was asked to join the wonderful Dream Team for Maurie Manning!!! Yayyyyyy so so excited I couldn’t believe it when I got a message telling me (as you will all know if you are regular to my blog I love Mo’s images)
You will have to wait until Fri 22nd Dec for my 1st official DT post but here’s a card I made last night for you.
It’s an 8x8” card blank made from Kraft card the image and wording have also been printed on Kraft. Now I got the idea for the card from a lady that posted a card on the Polkadoodles FB page. She had made a Robin and put the poem about little robin red breast, I was looking for a really cute but simple idea for a card I wanted to make that will need to be posted so wanted the front to be as flat as possible (now you know me I love piling stuff on regardless)
The backing paper is from #Polkadoodles  it’s from the festive Christmas coleection (link below) which I have distressed the edges of.
I coloured the image (giggling snowman again link below) with a mix of polychrome, Prisma and luminance pencils. Then I typed the poem can’t remember where it came from have had it for ages. I then cut to size and stuck to front of card with 3D tape.
It did need a little something so I added a chipboard snowflake that I covered in frontage and that was the front done.

For the insert I used the paper from the front with a white faded matt then added the snowman, I decided I wanted to colour this one rather than just leave plain due to the CAS style of the front. Then, I just added a simple Christmas Greeting.

Hope you like it and I will see you very soon

New release Heart on your sleeve January

Squeallllllll So Phil takes me to Doncaster yesterday to the Dame for the Stamp Magic fair. I spent a fortune, had a catch up with the lovely #Tracy Easson, then came home feeling very chuffed with myself about my new goodies but felling very worse for wear on the ear side of things. I’m really struggling again today in so much pain but hey ho I will go to these places x

So when I got home Nikky (#polkadoodlescraft) asked if any of us DT girls were sick of Christmas makes yet I said yes (even though I have hardly started to get any done) so she sent us some images and eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk I know I say it all the time but OMG they are the best. I do love images with big eyes that you can colour and bring to life they just make the image and January has the biggest soft eyes.
So to me she screamed out Mixed media so after a short gloat of my new stash I started to colour her in.

Then I got to work on the canvas giving a quick coat of gesso and crackle paste.
I added texture paste (homemade) to some of the new stencils I got from Tim Holtz and paperartsy  then added starlight paint distress stains and Brushos (never used before but LOVE them)

I used some scrabble letter tabs to spell the word heart distressed a little the added a painted mdf heart with some threads
I fussy cut the image out and added to the finished canvas
Hope you like it and I will see you soon with more January makes

Be spooky

Hi gorgeous people how are we all on this spooky Friday the 13th Bbbwwhhaahhhaa
I have a really quick card for you today, which I made a few days ago using one of the new images from Mo Manning. I think everyone knows I have a MASSIVE soft spot for Mo’s images they are just adorable.

So the image is coloured on Kraft card  with a mix of Lyra, Prisma and Luminance pencils and I fussy cut around it and then added it to an itsy bitsy card (well it is for me) 6½x5½ the papers are from the Winnie Wednesday collection over at #Polkadoodles  which is a must have as the images are just adorable too and the papers are the bomb..  Don't forget I have Blog candy still available Here  would love to see you enter (just a couple of conditions lol see post)

Winnie White Christmas day 3

Well it’s day 3 of the new release over at Polkadoodles  Winnie is proving to be a big hit again and it’s no surprise she is adorable if you haven’t got yours yet you need to (link below)

Now this card OMG it very nearly didn’t happen. It came about Nikky sent me the download to start working in my card for this release then I was struck down with vertigo when I have a bad bout of this it wipes me off my feet completely so I really thought I wouldn’t be able to continue being part of the release. Anyway I had printed everything off and coloured the image just before the vertigo hit then last weekend I started to feel a lot better so I thought lets get stuck in (maybe I  jumped in a little too soon) as I couldn’t  concentrate I made so many mistakes even decapitating poor Winnie yes I sliced right through her head so I had to re colour the image then my printer started playing up and basically start from scratch  Oh Boy!!!!!!!
Anyhooo I did finally make the card although a little different to my original design.
So everything I have used is part of the kit except for the ribbon, glitter and gems. I distressed and inked the edges of the papers (which as I have said before are gorgeous)

I coloured the imaged with a mix of pencils (Prisma, Polychromo, Pablo, Luminance)
The embellishments are taken from the foliage section of the download and then I added clear embossing powder to the top layer and also added some frontage.

The flower I layered up to give it more dimension and also cut into some of the petals on the second layer adding a flat backed gem to the centre.

I finished the card off by making the insert using the same papers as on the front one of the coloured images and another off the sentiments and there you have my 3rd card.
I will see you again tomorrow with another make until have a great Friday and weekend

Two fat boys (DR Digi)

Hellllloooooooo happy Friday you crafty peeps I hope you’re all well.  Well it’s another week and another challenge here at Colour Crazy and we are so lucky to be sponsored by Dr Digi (all links at bottom of post) as soon as I knew we were sponsored by this great company I knew exactly what image I wanted to use. I’d seen this image a few times and it reminded me (in a jokey way) of one of my cousins (he’s gonna kill me hahaha) and it’s his birthday tomorrow

Anyway while I can still breathe, my card is A5b in size the papers are a freebie from somewhere but unfortunately  I  don’t have the details anymore I have distressed and inked with faded jeans DI.
I coloured the image with a mix of polychromo, Prisma, Lyra and Luminance pencils then masked off the image and created the background.

To embellish the card I added some hessian threads and a couple of buttons and then on with the insert.

For this I kept it simple just one of the papers from the front then a blank piece and added the uncoloured image and the happy birthday greeting.
So there you have my card I hope you like it and I will see you again very soon

Laugh like you just don't care

Hello everyone I hope you are all fine and dandy and weathered storm Doris OK she was a right angry thing wasn’t she. Anyway it seems a little warmer today and a lot less blustery.
My Mother is still in hospital she had taken a turn for the worse over the weekend and her kidneys have now shut down and she has the pneumonia back (caught from hospital this time) When I spoke to the Dr last she said it looks like this is the decline and although they are treating her for the infection it doesn’t look promising.
I have a card for you today  one that I made a good few weeks ago just haven’t had chance to post it due to everything going on. So as I am taking a couple of “quiet days” to get pain down to a manageable level I thought I would post it just to let you know I am still alive and kicking lol

The card is 8x8” and I have distressed and inked in my usual way then torn some parts of them to look even more shabby.

The image is called Dodi by Mo Manning (you can find all links at the end of this post)and I have coloured with a mix of my lovely pencils then masked the image off and created the background using distress inks and stencil brushes.

I printed the sentiment off with the papers and then added 3D tape to attach to the card then to embellish I added a large button with hessian threads tied in a bow.

To finish the card I made the insert with the papers from the front then added the uncoloured image and added a short sentiment to complete it

Hope you like it and hopefully I will see you soon
