Bamboo Shoot was a Log Flume built by US manufacturer Arrow Development that was previously located at Six Flags AstroWorld in Houston, Texas, USA.[1]
History
Bamboo Shoot opened in 1969 along with the Serpent. This was part of a expansion of the Oriental Village area.[2]
In 1976, Bamboo Shoot received a renovation and had new control mechanisms installed.
In 1998, Bamboo Shoot had its flume rebuilt via a concrete structure.
In 2001, Bamboot Shoot was renamed to The Ozarka Splash as a result of a corporate sponsorship between Six Flags and spring water brand Ozarka. During this same year, the ride's water mains were repaired and the queue house received adjustments, alongside the addition of a waterfall feature on the side of the drop.[3][4]
In 2002, the ride had water cannons installed.
On October 30, 2005, Six Flags AstroWorld closed for the last time and Bamboo Shoot was demolished and scrapped.[5] The boats were sent to Six Flags Great Adventure for spare parts for Movietown Water Effect, but were never used.[6]
