HISTORY

CodeLaunch has become a premier startup accelerator in North America, since 2012 we’ve been offering participants the opportunity to compete for hundreds of thousands of dollars in invaluable seed services. CodeLaunch has become a critical amenity to the startup ecosystem, nurturing and fostering our competitors towards tangible business growth and investment opportunities.

HISTORYOF CODELAUNCH

CodeLaunch came from humble beginnings in 2012 with our inaugural event only hosting an audience of 40 people. Over the past decade plus, we have continued to evolve our practices, partners, and publicity to reach the heights we are at today. Learn more about our storied history below.

THE EARLY YEARS (2012-2015)

The early CodeLaunch years were not without challenge. Though we had the resources at our disposal to make a difference in the startup community, we did not have the awareness or processes in place to make a true impact. Explore the early years of our startup accelerator.

2012

The “Code Authority App Idea Competition” is born.

Code Authority incubated the School Office Pro team at it’s Parkwood Dr. location for 2 years. We provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in services, infrastructure, mentoring, product development and sales team support during this time. This support helped School Office Pro raise over $400K during and after this period. SOP still exists and is thriving today thanks to CodeLaunch.

2013

CodeLaunch I was held at NTEC, Frisco TX.

 

$125,000 in MVP Development Services were awarded to the Winners. Finalist RentEval was later acquired by a 3rd party in 2014 and was the first CodeLaunch “exit”.

2014

CodeLaunch II was held at NTEC, Frisco TX

 

$85,000 in MVP Development Services were awarded to the Winners and this event featured the first Finalist from outside of the Dallas/Fort-Worth Metroplex.

2015

CodeLaunch III was held at Hall Office Park in Frisco, TX.

 

$75,000 in MVP Development Services were awarded to the Winners and this event featured its first out-of-state winner from Idaho.

POST-IMPROVING MERGER (2020-CURRENT)

With the help of our new partners at Improving, CodeLaunch pivoted to the PCL (Professional Coder League) model, inviting in multiple branded professional software development teams to align with multiple finalists which applied a multiple to our impact at every event. This also launched the era of CodeLaunch travelling to new markets and countries to inject our style of acceleration, ‘venture-tainment’, and exemplifying Conscious Capitalism like never before.

THE PRESENT & FUTURE (2024 & BEYOND)

Building on the momentum of taking CodeLaunch to it’s first international destination in Mexico in 2023, CodeLaunch is adding Canada into the fold in 2024. Also it was time to bring all our champions together under one roof to showcase our great early stage deal flow opportunities, so we are producing the first ever CodeLaunch World Championship on Nov 20 in Dallas, which will bring together 8 stellar finalists with proven traction and growth from amongst Canada, Mexico, and the U.S.
