In ten years to come, passengers in international air transport will increase to around 1.8 billion (+50%) compared to the 0.85 billion passengers that were available in 2016.

According to the Minister of Economic Development (MiSE), Luigi di Maio, the protection of Made in Italy will essentially pass for the blockchain tech and the tracking of every single product. Minister revealed this recently while on the occasion of the presentation of the 33rd ICE Report and of the ISTAT-ICE Yearbook. It is appalling to know that the country has around €40 billion of real Made in Italy in the entire world and 100 billion of fakes.

Mercedes’ parent corporation, Daimler AG, a German global automotive company headquartered in Baden-Württemberg, has declared a partnership with four other giant startups including a European distributed ledger tech (DLT) interface, to create a blockchain solutions for cars dubbed a mobility blockchain platform (MBP), a distributed software platform which enables mobility as a facility with end to end encryption.

The Tattoo Wine platform plans to  manage more than 5,000 Italian wine labels from Europe, Africa, America and Asia. The biggest blockchain-based e-commerce platform is trying to promote the value, source and validity of Italian wine production on Asian markets.

The British multinational banking giant HSBC has successfully completed a blockchain-enabled Letter-of-Credit (LC) transaction. The Bank announced that it was propagated between South Korea and Vietnam. This marks the first blockchain LC operation for both countries and seventh in the world in general.

The small enclave nation bordered by Italy, iRepublic of San Marino, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VeChain Foundation Ltd and DNV GL, to adopt blockchain so they can define blockchain systems that have the potential to boost adoption of upright behavior by residents and set favorable conditions which will attract fresh projects to the country, hence embracing the digital revolution and evolution of the whole economic structure. The country is trying to consolidate its strategy of developing, promoting and implementing the technological novelty ecosystem using groundbreaking blockchain tech.

The government of Uganda wants to apply blockchain to curbing the distribution and sale of counterfeit drugs in the country. The announcement was made by the Country’s president on twitter mentioning the use of the tech in pharmaceuticals in Uganda. The government is keen to find a solution for the rampant counterfeiting in the country through innovations.
