A survey has been successfully conducted by Digital360 Group, Blockchain4Innovation and EconomyUP, aimed at measuring the level of knowledge and information, as well as ascertaining the perception of blockchain in Italy, both in terms of opportunity and criticality. The research shows that the revolutionary technology will galvanize the Italian economy.

Since its creation, blockchain has always caught the attention of various types of people. Many fundamental features of this and other financial technologies can be found in different industries and sectors of the Italian economy. One of the most advanced industries is banking.

Prominent politicians including the two vice-premiers of the Italian Council, businessmen, companies, and institutions gathered together at Vinitaly to discuss how to improve the wine industry and Made in Italy goods using innovative technologies such as blockchain, smart contract, the internet of things, artificial intelligence and others.

Participating and investing in ground-breaking technologies including blockchain, cryptocurrency, decentralized web, and decentralized applications (Dapps), would enable Italy and Europe at large to liberate themselves from the long-term monopoly the United States (USA) has had on the internet, and also protect their sensitive data from being accessed or leaked to other rival countries.

The government of Italy has been focusing on innovative initiatives such as blockchain technology, artificial intelligence (AI), industry 4.0, smart contract, the internet of things (IoT) and others. Italy now wants to become the leading European country in technology after the Brexit. Albeit, anything positive effort must be put in the system if digital technology is to become a mainspring for the real economy and poise public finances.

A tokenized society in Italy will be among the scenarios created by the blockchain technology where any type of storage of value and public registration can be a token encryption, which can tie to a floating market and further be traded on international digital exchanges.

Several Italian companies in the field of blockchain including Intesa SanPaolo group, Italia4Blockchain association, together with other major firms including IBM, Ripple, IOTA, Cardano, ConsenSys, have officially joined the International Association for Reliable Applications Blockchain (INATBA).

An Israel-based company focusing on technological innovation in the world of sports, officially declared the roll out of the first sports blockchain accelerator. The project will include an acceleration program that will take 14 weeks, and more than 10 startups from different parts of the world, will participate. This program is scheduled for July - September.

Banca Mediolanum, one of the largest financial institutions in Italy, has proclaimed that it has certified the non-financial viability (hash) of the Non-Financial Statement (DNF) on the Ethereum (ETH) Blockchain.
