The issue of legalizing the mining of cryptocurrencies in Russia is not new. However, now the country's Energy Ministry is emphasizing the need to create a proper framework so that the economy can benefit from it.

Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry is redoubling its efforts to fight illegal cryptocurrency mining. This week, 13 illegal facilities with a total capacity of over 200 Wt were discovered and shut down.

Russian cryptocurrency scammers have developed a new scheme to trick citizens out of their money. They offer cryptocurrencies as gift options for holidays or birthdays. However, those who get involved in this "original" idea do not receive anything in return.

During a video conference with the government  held on January 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government and the Bank of Russia to seek consensus on the cryptocurrency industry.

On January 20, the Bank of Russia published a report proposing to ban the cryptocurrency industry in the country. After being heavily criticized, the institution defended its position in a statement.
