China’s attitude on distributed ledger technology (DLT) is in agreement with global policy trends. The country embraces blockchain technology but not cryptocurrency, according to the BITBLOCK monthly research report on “Chinese Blockchain Policy.”

The European Union (EU) has shown the need for a consistent blockchain technology protocol which would enable interoperability as well as scalability. The report labeled “Scalability, Interoperability, and Sustainability of Blockchains” was issued by ConsenSys on behalf of the EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum. It gives insight into the latest and possible future states of distributed ledger technology (DLT) in Europe, allowing for the contribution of diverse stakeholders and sources.

According to a new report by Delphi Digital, a cryptocurrency research & consulting company, dubbed “Entering the Ethereum: Long-Term Value Potential and Analysis,” some of the latent technical risks experienced by the smart-contracting platform are highlighted and concisely analyzed. The technical risks include the size of the blockchain, Infura centralization, cross-shard communications and code vulnerabilities.

From the new report, it seems that there is substantial equity held by Starbucks – the biggest coffee and snack provider globally – in the forthcoming cryptocurrency platform Bakkt. The company has earned its shares as part of a jointly constructive agreement. Starbucks’ partnership with Bakkt was initially revealed in August 2018. It is aimed at enabling bitcoin payments.

The Indian government has been cautious of Blockchain and digital currencies and for good reason. The series of scams conveyed from India has been the government’s plan. Nevertheless, the current turn of events, the Supreme Court has asked the government of India to draft the blockchain (DLT) and cryptocurrency regulations for the nation in just four weeks.
