It has been officially reported that the Japanese Yen (JPY) overtook the US dollar in the race for first place in Bitcoin trading volumes. The Yen has over 49% of the total Bitcoin trading volume in the world.

Prices were falling all last year but this fact didn’t prevent people from conducting transactions on the darknet.  Moreover, reliable sources claim that the number of bitcoin payments on darknet by the end of 2018 doubled since the beginning of the year.

The crypto market has been pretty bearish over all of 2018. Many investors lost faith in crypto and gave up trading. Digital currency exchanges have had a lot of troubles over this period too.  Apart from low trading volumes and insufficient user activity, what are the other threats that crypto exchanges have to deal with?

Even though the cryptocurrency market is a highly volatile field, Turkish investors prefer Bitcoin over the national currency, the lira. In autumn, trading volumes in Turkey alone rose by 37%, proving that Bitcoin’s popularity was not affected by the bear crypto market trend.

Over the last week, Bitcoin fell below the mark of $3,300. It even passed two support levels at $3,250 and $3,200, however, it found support above $3,120. Is it likely that Bitcoin will rebound in the short term?

Digital currency trading volumes have substantially decreased following the drop in Bitcoin price. Given such a situation on the market, a Japanese lawmaker has suggested adding several amendments to the country’s policy related to crypto activity.

Bitcoin (BTC), the flagship crypto by volume fell to $4,480 on Tuesday, November 20, while Ripple (XRP), Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) also dropped to annual lows of $0.450, $132 and $206 respectively.
