Regardless of how it’s labeled, at the end of the season, I take my container mums and either put them directly in the ground, or I plant them in my raised bed garden over the winter until I can find a spot for them in the spring. In colder climates, cut it down to the ground and cover it with a good layer of straw or leaf mulch to protect them over the winter. It will come back bigger and better every year!
