During my visit to Palermo I made the trip up to the Cathedral of Monreale. This exceptional piece of Sicilian architecture contrasted against the almost desert landscape was phenomenal. It is a place where you can easily see the influence of Arab culture in the development of Sicily. It is a beautiful blend of cultures, of textures and colors.
