The Banqueting House - London - The Banqueting House is the only building at Whitehall Palace to survive. It was built in 1622 by architect Inigo Jones. His design set the classical style for many buildings in London. King Charles I commissioned Peter Paul Rubens to paint the ceiling panels. The Civil War led to the execution of the King in front of the Banqueting House in 1649.
