Colour architecture

La Muralla Roja was designed by Ricardo Bofill in the sixties. Geometric shapes in pink, red, purple and blue define the housing complex in Calpe.

Angular, geometric shapes, hard edges, and monolithic constructions. You are either in a Lego set or looking at an example of brutalist architecture. It’s a devise style, with some seeing it as the pinnacle of function over form, while others just think of endless, soulless commie blocks, with rotting, exposed concrete.

I am Paul Eis, a 19 years old architecture student. In the summer of 2015, I was walking through the streets of Berlin looking for some nice architecture to photograph. But I had to realize how monotonous the cityscape of my hometown is in the most places.

The main feature and characteristics in Louis Barragan’s works is the art of emotional architecture by using different colors to express the emotions. He gave his designs some brands. Having the modern simple forms & international look and combining them with cultural features of mexico such as colors and rough textures is his art.

Designer Yinka Ilori and architecture studio Pricegore have built this year's Dulwich Pavilion, The Colour Palace, outside Dulwich Picture Gallery in London
